Thats probably the best haul ever... Ive only snagged two criterions from Pawn shops ever in my years of hunting... though a a few of those titles mentions I did get for really cheap through the late Moviestop T3G1 deal and an amazon canada misprice "deal"

I find it hard to believe someone would donate those or sell them to a pawn shop. I do realize though that things happen, and sometimes they just end up there. |

I got the Blow Out Criterion on blu at a pawn shop for $3 about two months back. Definitely my best pawn pick up.

Problem is the shops I go to seem to look up their Blus on eBay and price accordingly. But a couple have thousands of $1 DVDs so I get discs of stuff I have in my Netflix (DVD) queue or movies I've forgotten about.

That's how it has been around here for a few years. Most of the major pawn shops around here are owned by the same folks and from what I've heard from an employee, pretty much everything gets a quick web search beforehand. So Disney titles and collectibles, etc. never make it out on the floor and instead are sold online. All the common fodder goes on the movie rack and sits there at a fixed price for years. And the local used media stores (non-pawn shops) use some kind of algorithm to price their traded-in titles. So if a new release is traded in and sits on the shelf for a while, it may still have a $15-20 price that goes unchanged for ages. Out of print titles that go oop after they're stickered can be a nice deal, while if they're oop and going for a lot online at the time they're traded in then they are often priced at the bloated web rate.
