I thought of this regarding Lady Stoneheart in the TV show earlier:

[Show spoiler] What if Sansa gets killed by Ramsay or Roose then they successfully defend and kill Stannis & his men. Then the Brotherhood resurrect Sansa as Stoneheart either S5 finale or S6 debut. Then S6 we get Sansa as Stoneheart wanting revenge on the Boltons, Freys (because of what they did to her family), Brienne (for failing to save her after she promised to (i know Sansa didnt want it )) and Littlefinger (because it was his fault she was in Winterfell). Would be a nice revenge side plot for S6 and can tie up some loose ends (Freys) and killing Boltons & Littlefinger would be a fitting ending for them. Brienne would be interesting as she can either live and assist the Brotherhood or die in a twist. Im not sure where Theon/Reek would fit in.

That's just it - people are so focused on the deviations but I have a feeling that for the most part things are going to come back around into sync much more once we have the full story.

D&D are just doing the best they can given a) the last two books are MIA, b) the limitations of a television adaptation, c) weaknesses in the source material.

The chess pieces will land where they were supposed to, I have no doubt. We just may go a different path on some of them.
