It's only a sit-com, in real life Sheldon would have been completely alone for years and end up in a mental hospital. There is no way anyone would put up with that behaviour outside of family

In the moment, I'm sure Leonard and Penny were just thinking about getting there and getting to Sheldon before anything bad happened. Once they got there, they probably figured they could get him to come home... once that didn't happen, it was too late for Amy because Sheldon was probably about to take the train.

It's a sitcom, but I won't take that copout like I could. It's hard to blame anyone but Sheldon in that scenario as it played out. He left without saying anything, was an ass to Stuart, and didn't even think to call Amy before he left. Amy had been calling him all day and he ignored her until after he had gone away.

Kevin Sussman has a special deal.

He is a series regular, but is not featured in every episode. His contract is for 7-13 episodes a season.

His deal guarantees that he will be available to the show on an as-needed basis.

This seasons finale was one of the best episode's I've seen in awhile. Jim Parsons was fantastic!

well story wise he is more important, he owns the comic book store (visited often) while Wheaton only showed up as a funny antagonist at first.

But who knows what will happen now that the comic book shop burned down.

I like Stuart. IMO, more of Stuart's episodes are funnier than Wil Wheaton's.

I dunno... For me, Evil WW's impressions of Jar Jar Binks were more funny than anything involving Stuart.

Eh, I didn't really laugh at that. Mostly because I think it's a horrible character in a, IMO, not so great franchise. Hopefully Abram's will change my opinion on Star Wars, he made me a fan of Star Trek. Well, a fan of his Star Trek...

Well... your question assumes that Wil Wheaton would even want to be a regular. Maybe they asked him and he declined.
