This is probably my favorite film series anyway, so why not go all-in on a steelbook?
Worse comes to worse I can contact Universal about replacements... then put all the 4K’s in their own spots and keep the Bluray discs elsewhere since I own all of the blus already anyway.

I’m going to somehow return my copy. Without a 4K TV, I’m basically owning 2 copies of movies I already own, seeing how they’re the exact same 2D Blu-Ray’s. Getting my hopes up that the discs would be new transfers was a bad idea -__- Honestly though I’m excited to watching Jurassic Park 3D with PSVR. Haven’t had this experience since seeing it in theatres 5 years ago.

You can always watch SDR conversion from these UHD discs, even on fullHD HDTV.

Default Jurassic Park 4K

I just finished watching Jurassic Park in 4K and I'm absolutely thoroughly impressed. The video, including detail, colours, HDR and contrast ratio are unbelievable.

I noticed subtleties that I never noticed before, the wood grain inside the Ford Explorers (inside door panel, on the cd rom in the vehicle), the vivid blue hat that Lex is wearing during the Trannosaurus attack scene inside the Explorer, plus it seems every few minutes you notice something totally overlooked on the Blu that is eye catching in 4K!

I would give this video presentation 4.5/5. Universal knocked this out of the park big time..........and doesn't disappoint!

is there any embossing on the front of the box? like raised letters etc??? hard to tell from the pic. i really like the artwork and box though. turned out good. also what does rear of box look like? thanks

How is the Atmos??? That's what I want to know! I can't wait to get this Tuesday. The wife and me will be plowing through the "quadrilogy" starting Tuesday. The last 3 weren't cinematic masterpieces, but they were thoroughly entertaining. (Kinda like the Transformers movies...I just want to see robots fighting each other, and that's what you get with all of those).

It's not in Atmos, it's DTS:X.

I'm not running the new audio extensions and only have DTS HD MA and Dolby True HD. This disc has the new DTS extension however as stated I have only DTS HD MA.......but it sounds great. I wouldn't know if this is the same audio available on the 2011 edition, but I will say it's very sub woofer heavy!

I wonder how good this'll look overall. Hopefully it's a good transfer and doesn't look obvious.

Please note the screen caps as requested. The screen caps don't do the disc justice!

I just finished watching The Lost World and for those of you that have enquires I think you're going to be very happy. The video is phenomenal......except the ending on the water front ship yard.....very grey/blue, but then again I would think that is due to the location and source material.

The Lost World .........Video 4.2/5

Color looks more balanced on JP1: the warm-push from the prior release corrected.

Oh I don't mind the HDR at all, considering how poor the 2011 version is! It's because I don't own a 4K HDR TV this set is useless to me until I do. I was hoping the standard Blu-Ray's video was based on the latest 4K remaster. But unsurprisingly/surprisingly 5 years later from its 20th Anniversary (7 if you count its 2011 Blu-Ray debut), it remains the same.
