Wow, 25 quid. Is that becoming the price for new releases?

If that's actually true, and not some mock-up error, I'm willing to bet it'll be a direct port of the Paramount encode.

Wait, people were actually expecting this to be in 1.78 and not the film’s original 2.35:1? Y’all set yourselves up for disappointment with that one lol. The movie was composed for 2.35, we were never getting an “open-matte” version on UHD.

What’s the difference between Dolby Vision and Dolby Vision Atmos?

It's just a new brand logo by Dolby. If both are used a new logo can be used, instead of separate symbols. See also my avatar.

Oh I had a feeling Dolby Vision Atmos was a new type of Dolby that had a mixture of both.

I’ve noticed too that new catalogue 4K titles are creeping up past the £20 point!

Quite frankly I'm not even sure why the 3D version was open-matte

I think one reason people were expecting it that way was first of all the 3D conversion but also how Cameron did that with the home video transfers of Avatar 1 and 2, so I guess they were expecting him to do the same here for the same reason

Cameron said or hinted (though don't quote me on that) that he preferred the taller aspect for 3D. He seems to have rowed it back since for this movie tho, even the most recent "3D 4K" re-release was in 2.35 was it not? He's happy to go with the multi-aspect presentation of the Avatars for theatres, opting for 1.78\1.85 in the home for those, but for Tintantic he's deferred to the OG aspect. I mean, I assumed T2 3D would also be in 1.78 but nope, it was also 2.35 all the way.

Ironically enough tho, given how much I b!tch and b!tch and b!tch about open matte presentations being shite, I think Tintantic works brilliantly in 1.78. The common top Super 35 that Cameron prefers means that you don't get the yawning chasm of headroom that pervades bog-standard open matte material, it's opened up more on the bottom and it's much less distracting IMO. The VFX is also partially cropped/partially opened up so it retains its scale instead of looking too distant.

BUT I'm verr happy with the UHD being 2.35

Cameron has stated that it's his preferred ratio for 3D.

Ugh so I guess this confirms that the blu-ray included in the international version will be the same as the 2012 disc and not a new remaster, right?

Where does it confirm it? I'm not aksing that rhetorically either, I'd just like to know where you've deduced that from that picature. Tho to be fair Disnee UK don't tend to give us remastered Blus in their 4K sets any more.

According to the back cover, the set of audio / subtitles is exactly the same as on the original BD.
