I am also having the problem of being able to close the steelbook. It is the top that will not snap close. On a side note I picked this up at best buy yesterday morning with no problems. Then when I for home from work my wife gave me a steelbook as a surprise as she was unaware that I picked it up. If anyone is interested I am selling the sealed one for retail price plus tax which was 21.00. Buyer would pay shipping. After hearing all of the best buy horror stories I cannot bring myself to scalp this thing. Also the UV Code is

Also forgot to ask if anyone else is noticing the picture jitter. It really stood out when they are spitting gas into the war rig engine. Also after max finishes spitting into the engine and talks before climbing to the top of the rig it jitters bad as well.

I wish they had used the screen title from the movie rather than the Yellow one we got on the cover.

Yes. The dirty little secret with this movie is that the first 20 minutes or so is not very good at all. When I first saw those opening minutes in the theatre, my heart sank a bit. This is getting masterpiece reviews? The opening car crash scene is way too short and that crazy cutting when Max tries to escape is way overdone. Once the movie gets it's footing though, it's really good.

That's one hell of a secret, as nobody told me that.

Because that's absolutely not true. The beginning is amazing.

The first 20mins of Fury Road told a better story than the entire ~110mins of No Escape. You saw Max's intro, Joe's intro, what Joe does, the War Boys, then Furiosa. Clean, fast storytelling without missing a beat.

I agree... I got a little disappointed at first too. Its also a differt type of movie that takes a bit to get used to.

Let me get my knife to cut the sarcasm. I think the film is very good. I bought it on release day so I really dig it. But I'm not quite down with the whole 5 star masterpiece reviews. That's all. The first 20 minutes or so seem a bit sloppy to me. Once they get on the road though, it's all good. IMHO.

I picked up the 3D set yesterday and plan on watching it tonight. Having never seen any of the previous Mad Max movies, will I be able to follow along? I'm sure I'll watch all of them at some point, but I've been excited to watch Fury Road after all of the hype.

I'm not sure, but that might be because the director fiddled with frame rates for effect. If this is what you're referring to, it was present in the theatrical presentation and is intentional.

That's how I remember it looking in the theater, yeah, but this is on my laptop which surely has a cooler color profile. On my calibrated TV it still looks blue but much more silvery-grey kind of blue. Reminds me of Terminator 2's opening, which as a kid I remembered being blue-as-f**k but now looks more grey on a calibrated television.

I could have sworn Fury Road's night stuff was blue as shit in the theater 4 months ago though.

No worries - there isn't a problem with the encode or someone would have mentioned it by now.

Agreed, that title is awesome. Hopefully some other releases use it.

Maybe this has been discussed somewhere but did anybody have any issues with the Atmos track? I've got a PS3 feeding a Pioneer Elite VSX-91TXH. I usually leave it on bitstream but with this disc it seems to throw my receiver out of whack. Dialog was all in the back left, it was almost like everything was reversed from how it should be. Luckily the issue was fixed by letting the PS3 handle the decoding, but I found it kind of strange.
