For the special feature BDs, they are the same discs as the original BD collection.

I'll elaborate. I had mentioned that I had seen a picture of the boxset where the subtitle languages didn't match those that are mentioned on this website, you can see it here:

I'm thus up confused

This set is excellent, so so so many commentaries and features. I wish this series was shot on film, but it still looks very nice and cinematic. More 4K TV shows PLEASE !!

Does the digital copy redeem in 4k? Bought this the day it came out and finally getting around to watching it. Stuck in season 2 disc 1 and it wont read on any of my players.

I'm holding out for a final two seasons that didn't kill any love I had for the show.

It is my understanding that digital codes for TV shows only redeem in high definition. That is the case with this digital code, anyways.

So this means that season 1-4 are good, but 5-8 are crap?

Maybe they should release a first-half-of-all-seasons-box (i.e. S1-S4).

None of the digital stores currently sell TV shows in 4K. Also, the code that comes with this collection is Vudu only, whereas the codes from the BD season boxes used to redeem on both Vudu and iTunes.

Almost finished watching this set, It almost makes me sad. The 4K Dolby Vision picture is SO GOOD and gets better every season. Even blu-rays TV shows pale in comparison to this let alone the streaming. I really really hope theres more 4K TV Blu Rays

I am one of the fans who thought this was the best show ever until half-way through the final season when it went completely off the rails. My recommendation to you would be to give it a chance season by season on streaming to see if you like it.

The drop-off is extremely easy to pinpoint, it's when they ran out of book material. I mean the show was still okay until near the end, but it's when they ran out of book that the obvious quality drop happened IMO.

The set design and costumes in this show were just impeccable, and you see so much more of it in 4K HDR. On second viewings its very easy to place which episode were primarily made by who, especially the ones written by George RR Martin (they also tend to be the best). Watching this back to back just spoils you, you wont see TV shows looking this good often on a netflix stream

Ditto. Although I would echo Stinging Velvet in that I don't think the latter seasons were as strong as the adapted seasons, it was still far and away better than so much on tv (with a few exceptions). Season 8 is where I really was disappointed, and I think expectations and the super long wait between season 7 and 8 had something to do with it. Maybe I'll appreciate it more on a future rewatch.

I both liked and hated the entire show.
It was cool seeing some of the books come to life.
It sucks that so much was cut out. Even in the first season.
So many missing characters and story beats.
The show went off and became mostly hate with two situations:
#1:
[Show spoiler]When the ruined Rob Stark's character. Everything leading up to the Red Wedding

#2:
[Show spoiler]The Hound vs Arya vs Brianne. That was ridiculously stupid and altered from the book so much.

I loved this series from beginning to end.

I take the show for what it is, and not what I want it to be.

The ending, yeah, it was a bit PC and convenient, but it also in my opinion had bricks laid down to build to what it was.

The clues were there, and I feel strong that most everything was exactly as it should have been.

It was a heck of a ride.

I had one disc falter on me. ONE. I have returned my second set through Target (who let me keep it until I figured out which one was bad), and I have a flawless set.

Considering the bulk of this box set, this was not a big deal to me. To experience 4K Atmos and seeing the presentation of the huge battles not looking like garbage like the streaming version is reason enough to get this without hesitation.

Yeah yeah sales are nice, but who wants to wait on that. Man I have dragons to see in 4K! Waiting wasn't happening for me. Well worth it. Just awesome!

Try the highly underrated show Marco Polo on Netflix. But yeah, there aren't many shows with this level of production design.

There is a clear drop in quality starting in season 7, where things start to feel rushed and the show loses much of what made it special. But there are still some amazing episodes in seasons 7 and 8.

Please tell me how the "clues were there" that Jon Snow would end up being unimportant to the white walker invasion and Aria would be the one who was foretold or whatever. 'Cause I'm pretty sure the show hinted the opposite for 6 seasons and then said screw it for a lame twist.

What??? Inimportant???

Oh my dear lord. He broke himself defending in every way possible.

He was such a key figure it isn't worth explaining.

Dragon glass, bringing together armies, bagging evidence. Without spoiling I ask myself. What show did you watch????

Arya was put into position because of moves he made. She would have died trying to get there (in case you missed it she almost did!).

Small little detail you missed, what weapon was used. How did the weapon get in moms hand. What animal thwarted said attack. What son convinced dad that it was an omen and a symbol of house stark.

Btw who gave her needle??

Nothing lame it was a team effort.

BOOM..."I have exorcised the demons. This house is clean!"

It was never prophesied anywhere that Jon Snow or anyone in particular would be the one to kill the night king. Jon was just the one sounding the alarm.. personally him being taken out by the best assassin on either side of the narrow sea works for me.

And hasn’t Arya been saying no to the god of death since the first season? What else was the night king if not that?
