So it was 2 boxes for a $12 ticket a few years ago and now it's 3 boxes for a $6.50 ticket ($1.50 Fandango fee).

This is nothing new. They've often said free, when it won't necessarily cover the price of a full price ticket. Technically they are telling the truth, because you can get a free ticket, but maybe just a matinee or something. Otherwise you can use it to take $8 off your total and just pay the difference.

As for the convenience fee, some theater loyalty programs like AMC Stubs waive that fee on Fandango, so you'll be able to use the full $8.

Fandango now has a VIP+ rewards program. So you buy tickets and earn reward points that you can use to get credits for future tickets, digital purchases, or merch.

I think it more or less boils down to getting a $1.50 credit per movie ticket...so like a refund on the convenience fee if you pay it. This will be pretty good for AMC stubs members who don't pay fees.



I guess the relevant to us part of the T&C:

At least some of the purchase must be paid using a credit or debit card, PayPal, credit in your Fandango VIP account from a prior exchanged purchase, or a Fandango (or Fandango-eligible theater) gift card.

It does mention they might do special promos (complete activities, via email, purchase x tickets in y time, etc) to earn more reward points so be on the lookout for that.

I have not. I have pretty much given up on it. Based on their rules, they should be giving out multiple tickets per hour. I have tried many times and never been successful.

I would be really interested if anyone else here shared my same experience or, better yet, if they were was successful.

That $8 Fandango cash for Ready Player One finally works towards IMAX 3D, at least it did just now for me anyway. Not sure about other non-2D formats.

So, has anyone had problems with Regal Cinemas not accepting e-movie cash tickets lately. Back when I saw Justice League I had two, and they weren't able to process.

Then again, my particular theater has its mind blown when free ticket vouchers are used anyway.

Oh, Regal is doing a Deadpool double feature in RPX, that's cool.


...and my Regal is charging $1 less than twice the full price ($31!) of an RPX ticket for it....*sigh* lame


My Cinemark is doing it in XD at a more reasonable price of $20, I guess.

Wait for T-mobile Tuesday for Deadpool 2, $4 tickets. If you don't have T-mobile, buy a code on slickdeals for $1 amazon egc.

(might not work on the double feature though)

YouTube channel Hyper RPG mentioned in their Deadpool 2 Final Trailer reaction video that they have a promo code through Atom for $5 off the movie ticket: SQUAD.

Tried it myself both Dolby and a regular 2D showing, and it won’t apply it. Guessing you have to be using it for the first time on a different account or as a guest.
