Question HD DVD Advantages?

Hi.

I have a simple question. What make people think that HD-DVD is better than Blu-ray?

I mean, Blu-ray have larger space, bigger bitstream and better protection. What on earth does HD-DVD has of advantages???

Only care about BB, Matrix, V, and Posiedon. Those are from Warner and will be released next year. If they were Universal or Paramount then I would be neutral. I prefer to use the money for a second player to replace more standard DVDs. Simple economics.

Both formats have their advantages & disadvantages. But the one I like to reflect on is the Fact that HD DVD’s advantage is its format has been standardized from the beginning and the only Hi Def format to be approved by the DVD Forum. This is Blu-Ray’s disadvantage, they still do not have a standardized format.

Hardware wise, HD DVD players are selling at a much cheaper price than BD stand alone players.

Blu-Ray has a wide assortment of great movies, so I don't think Transformers will make a big enough impact on HD DVD as some may think.

In the end the Consumer will win, and that is if the price is right and that is DVD, HD DVD then Blu-Ray.

The one I like to reflect on is Blu-Ray has the ability to give me great PQ, incredible AQ and can still toss a few extras on the disc for good measure.

But your right, in the end the consumer will win. And it appears they are choosing Blu-Ray.

Why do people keep saying this?? BR has a standardized format or else the disk wouldn't play on ALL BR players. More FEATURES are being added, thus the profiles. HD DVD is in the exact same boat here.

How many times does it have to be repeated that price does not trump all? There are so many examples of this in the world, you just need to look around you.

Actually it's DVD, Blu-Ray then HD DVD and we have lots of evidence to support this.

Go to AVS or HDD before you're banned (all HD DVD supporters eventually get banned from here), you're not welcome here.

I've said nothing to get myself banned. So why even bring this up? Unless you reject FACTS.

I am associated with several Studios & newspapers, I am the last guy any forum would want to ban I keep my posts clean & too the point. I have no Bias, just truth & facts.

Unfortunately, you posted multiple things that are fiction and show that you have a lot to learn. You can support whichever format you choose to support, but on some things you really don't know what you are talking about. From here you could choose to throw a fit and push this fiction elsewhere, or you could choose to learn. It is really up to you. If you are in the press and refuse to learn where stuff you thought was truth was actually fiction, then that would be extremely pitiful. Even if you are upset about a ban you consider unfair. I would have preferred that you not get banned. Then we could have seen if you would have learned after posting fiction that you thought was truth, as we all make mistakes and the real test is how we react when we find out we've been wrong, but I don't make the rules or those decisions.

Yes, the search bar is an amazing tool. There are so many existing threads that illustrate the clear differences between the two formats.

What the comparisons won't tell you is that you can have fun learning how to boil discs with your family is you go with the hybrid format.

Oh, I guess I was to post-happy there. Sorry.

Well, Transformers wasn't enough to stop Blu-ray sales, the need of boiling a disc is not really positive. So I guess it's only the cheap players which is good. Which Sony is now countering with holiday price cuts for Sony Blu-ray players...

What the hell is that?

Boiling? Real boiling and not a fancy new tech term?
The thought of boiling a disk to fix it just sounds way too dumb.

My current blu-ray player is a PS3 which are incredibly tough:

I plan to get a BR player this xmas though.
