I'm not a fan of the franchise being rebooted, but I did see the 2009 movie about a year after it came out. Zoe Saldana made for a decent Uhura, and I liked Simon Pegg as Scotty. Everyone else, not so much.

Daniel Craig as James Bond.

I'd have preferred they kept Pierce Brosnan, but Craig's pretty good for the no-nonsense approach. All three of his entries (so far) have portrayed Bond as the one guy on Earth you never want to mess with. Even a character like Snake Plissken would hesitate.

Both of them are perfect for the movie Tim Burton wanted to make. You're getting caught up on comic book comparisons rather than looking at the film. He wanted Batman to seem pretty much just as crazy as the villains, which Keaton pulled off well. Nicholson gives a perfect Caesar Romero style Joker with a violent, dark twist, which was the goal.

They were perfect casting for what Burton wanted.

I felt bad for George, he had incredibly big shoes to fill when Sean left.




I cannot believe turtle-neck shirts were so big back then. Maybe that's the reason he didn't fit as James Bond? James would never wear a turtle-neck unless it was all black.

In that sense, you are correct. I think Nicholson's Joker fits the Burton mold very well, but it is not my preferred take on the character(s).
