Depends how you look at it. Fox is now part of Disney, so I will be praising them either way. Quality-wise, I'll thank Fox. Box-office-wise, well, you know.

If it succeeds... IF... it's only because it's a good movie, thanks to Fox.

Yeah... So the first three delays have nothing to do with the previous Fox regime? They get no blame since they weren’t confident in the film, which Disney’s marketing team inherits and goes, the pre-WOM is so horrible on this film, what the hell do we do with it.

They finally set a release date, and issues outside of their control shuts down all theaters.

Yeah it’s Disney’s fault.

The first delay was to avoid Deadpool 2. The second delay was to avoid Dark Phoenix. The third delay was due to the Disney merger. The fourth delay was because of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Hmmm...out of the four delays this movie had, only ONE was caused by Disney.

Where are you getting that it tried to avoid Deadpool 2 and Dark Phoenix? I don't recall that happening before. I thought it once got delayed because they wanted to make it scarier.

Also even IF you are right, no. It's two. Not one. Disney is responsible for the delay twice.

But DP was delayed again as well. So Fox has these movies and doesn't know what to do with them and can't come up with a release schedule. Damn that Disney.

No, Dark Phoenix was mostly Fox's fault. But people need to understand that when a monop... I mean... when a merger happens and over 2000 people get layed off, you can't really move forward until everything is settled.

"Dark Phoenix" needed more story/character development/action scene placed in the middle act. Other than that, it was a very good movie.

Critics just bashed it because... oh well, it was the fashion of the day. Audience followed the critics.

Doesn’t help if the movie was getting terrible reviews and poor critic reception.

Some movies are critic proof and others are not.

In Dark Phoenix’s case, it wasn’t and the masses were easily persuaded to avoid the movie from reviews.
