No. I believe the Motion Comics and Black Freighter/Under the Hood came out just before the movie hit theatres. The Director's Cut and Ultimate Cut were announced long before the movie hit theatres and the rest are just retailer exclusives, none were made specifically to try to recoup money in the way you're suggesting.

It'd be cool if they released the Ultimate Cut on its own, it definitely doesn't need the big box it has, especially when it doesn't include the Director's Cut separately.

Hopefully when they get to an anniversary point, they'll do the right thing and give us the full on Bladerunner treatment with every cut and all the bonus features.

I found a copy last night at FYE so I pulled the trigger and now I own both the Amazon Nite Owl exclusive and the Ultimate Cut! Yay, me!

How much was it RedStar? I'm curious, since I still have one of those in my neck of the woods and might be easier than waiting for something on back order. Then again, maybe I should just get the damned directors cut from Costco at this rate

If you do that you will be missing some awesome extras. Costco has the single disc right now.

Same here. The only reason I passed on the release was because I had already purchased most of what was in the box separately.

I really hope I didn't get screwed out of my chance at getting the UC.

I ordered it from WBShop.com on 12/15, and with word that others had received their copy, I thought.. "Oh wow! Maybe mine will ship too!"

It's been a few days since most others have shipped, so I'm thinking that I didn't order in time, and thus I'm SOL.

I love the DC release. I got it from the States from Amazon.com back in Dec 09.

I had to even pay custom charges on it!! but it was well worth it. I am not even sure it was released anywhere else but the States.

It was one hell of a watch I hadnt seen the movie since watching it at the cinema some months previous - and this version so different!! I had heard just before the home release there would be a big boxed extended version released at the end of the year, so waited for it - it may have been this site actually.

I watched it with my mate who was a long term fan of the noval 20 years ago and he loved the movie. He had even double dipped! In the UK, I think the TE and SE where released seperate. he had both versions! and extremly jealous of my edition.

great edition to the small collection I have

this is great??!

I bought the director's cut edition right away and didn't want to double-dip so i kept that and the features disc. I got a four-disc case and bought a like-new copy of the motion comic that came in perfect condition. I bought a used copy of Tales of the Black Freighter and Under the Hood on DVD that looks like it was never watched or taken out of the case. I don't feel like I lost anything without the UCE because the director had already put out his definitive cut. I printed out a custom cover where I removed the part that said 'Ultimate Cut' and just made it 'The Complete Story.'

This was the first Blu-ray Disc I got. Mine only came with two discs though, no digital copy.

This title was hard to find when first released. Did get it for Christmas last year. Despite the mammoth length, it's very easy to sit through. The version I have freezes for about 10-15 minutes (starts at Veidt's assassination attempt). Can't find another copy. I think it's the BD player I have because it plays fine on a PS3.

For those who have the Directors Cut. does this come with any extras? I'm curious since I had Netflix send it and it seems to go from the previews directly to the movie without any menu options. Is this normal? Still holding out that my order will get filled by the WB Store for the Ultimate cut. Worse case scenario I have money that I've forgotten about for a while longer

The first disc only has the Maximum Movie Mode PiP feature which has to be accessed from the pop-up menu. The second disc has additional extras.

You probably got a rental only copy (no extras, just the movie).

My copy does have extras, and it goes right into the movie with no menu. It's very annoying.

I agree. I wish the Warner Bros Blu-rays just go on the menu first that way I can pick whether to watch the movie or not. Gives...more power to the controller.

So am I able to access it once the movie is done playing or what? It does seem strange that studios decide to do this.

You can access it via the pop-up menu once the movie starts playing.
