The spanish, for me, is the one to get. read a few posts before where it was compared to the UK and it has the upper hand. But it does not have English subtitles. However, it is using the same master and encoding as the french edition, which has English subtitles and can be had for €12.99 on amazon right now.

So no one is gonna give me UK vs ES vs FR? Someone gave Gaumonts very high remarks on the movie page. Not always we get english subs on french discs but also know FiM is god so....

I successfully ripped both the FiM encoded version and the latest Gaumont Definitive Edition of The Fifth Element/Le Cinquième Élément. Apart from the opening title using different languages (English vs. French), the two versions appear to be identical.

I captured some screenshots while ripping each disc using MakeMKV, then took screen captures using IINA (on Mac). However, the images display as SDR converted from HDR on my monitor. Since I'm new to uploading side-by-side screen comparisons, I'd appreciate guidance on how to properly share what I found.

That said, I want to emphasize that to my eyes, both the StudioCanal FiM encoded version and the Gaumont edition look identical in terms of picture quality.
