Here is what happens on the February 5th episode in the final scene which was filmed on January 13th.

[Show spoiler]Howard takes a call which makes him distraught. His mother went to sleep and never woke up. Everyone goes over to console Howard. Leonard expects Sheldon to say something inappropriate. Instead he comments,"When my father died, I didn't have any friends to help me through it. But you do." Penny thought that he was going to say "Let it go".

Howard and Bernadette have left for Florida. Howard is holding it together while Raj is leaving that night. Stuart can't beleive she was gone. Raj is going to miss her. Debbie had told Penny that she was so skinny she should eat more. Amy thought she was a good cook. Sheldon didn't like the way she yelled. Leonard told Sheldon that he could yell at him if he wanted. Leonard and the rest of the gang toasts Mrs. Wolowitz saying that she was a great mother to all of them; thus also toasting the late Carol Ann Susi. RIP.

I will trust that the people working on the show will handle it well, because she seems to have been well-liked by all.

The trick, and the problem, is the character (not the actress) was the butt of so many jokes... only a handful of genuine moments like the time Howard is moving out and shared his story about trying to make his mom smile with magic after his dad left.

That's probably why they had to take some extra time to figure out not just a respectful way to handle her passing for the sake of the actress but a plausible way within the framework of the show.

It kind of makes more sense now that they haven't been back with new shows as quickly as some of the other CBS shows after winter break.

Season 7 was already very mediocre. Season 6 was the last season I enjoyed.

That's not why though. Seasons 2, 3, and 4 have aired at the exact same pace as this season. Only season 5, 6, and 7 aired more episodes at the same pace and just by one episode. There is always a lot of breaks for this show and people always complain -- see this thread through out the years. lol

Yeah, I know about breaks... I was surprised so many shows came back from winter break early actually... but then some shows didn't come back as early as others.

It has helped me catch up, though, so it all works in the end.

Touching tribute at the end there to Carol Ann Susi.

Disappointing use of Nathan Fillion's guest appearance.

Love the new comic book store. Also kind of sad that I own most of the statues I saw in there.

Do you work on the show, or did you find a leaked copy of the script? How did you know all that? It's pretty spot on to what I saw yesterday. The only thing incorrect was the air date

Yeah... they didn't even mention Castle, just Firefly and Dr. Horrible. (though that might be because Castle is on a different channel, and still airing new episodes)

I thought it wasn't Nathon Fillion to start off.. and just someone who looked like him for a gag.. especially when he had his hat on.

The selfie photo expression was very funny though.

Also might be because comic/sci-fi fans like Leonard and Raj don't care about crime dramas.

That seems most likely... though they should also mention Fillion having voiced Green Lantern for DC Animation.

Was very surprised they did not post a pic of Carol Ann at the end of the show with an in memory of message

No, lol. The show always "leaks" the night after filming. There are full, detailed summaries of the next 3 episodes as they have already filmed them.

They did that back in November when she died.

TV guide lists it as a "comedy" rather than a "drama" for whatever reason

What annoyed me the most on Castle is the episode when he's "found" after being gone for 2 months, and the writers don't even explain what happened. Just that he wanted his memory erased.

Still would have been nice to see it again. But I guess that would be repetitious.

CBS.com and CBS app for smartphones/tablets are two good options.

they have mentioned other shows that were still airing on other networks. So I don't think it is necessarily that reason.

They've already filmed 18 episodes and have written 21 I believe. So it will be really tight if they can fit it in this season. Maybe it will be the season premiere next year? Or they might squeeze it in the finale if they have time this year?
