I honestly think they should push the movie back a couple weeks till things get under control 1 million covid cases in the USA is crazy

The movies BO could be severely punished because it releases next week
Scream is unproven in that is crosses generations like the Halloween franchise S4 didn’t really land well and the original trilogy was in a late 90s time capsule it’s gonna be so interesting to see how this pans out next week

Kind of selfishly hoping for a delay because theaters are shut down where I am and spoilers will be unavoidable if something major happens (

I get why they can’t do day-and-date in the states, but does Canadian/Foreign box office count toward backend deals? If not, they’re shooting themselves in the foot by not going PVOD in any countries where theaters are shut(ting) down. Even places that aren’t fully locked down are still shutting down theaters (my province being one) and I can see people desperately pirating cam-rips instead of avoiding spoilers for another month or so. If the 45 day window still applies outside of the states, then the damn thing will probably be available online by the time theaters are open again here, anyway lol.

J999 does make a good point, too. This film has a good amount of things that you really don’t want spoiled by a Bloody-Disgusting headline (if you’re actively avoiding spoilers, that is)

That's just it - people say day/date is bad because of pirating, but the truth is - not having it available is just going to encourage even more pirating than the people who would only choose to do so if a higher-quality copy were out there.

Regular pirates are going pirate - especially given that fully watchable cam rips are out there for most movies the day they come out. But other people who aren't regulars are only going to seek it out because they can't watch it any other way.

Yes, I would avoid reddit/twitter/etc. from now on - I am told apparently some of the reveals were trending on twitter in particular earlier. I don't know personally, as I wasn't about to check.

This thread is pretty much the only place I'm going at the moment - if any rat bast-you-know-whats spoil it here, I'm gonna send Ghostface after you!

Well, we aren't allowed to get too deep into that topic here - but you would be surprised. If there is a choice between not seeing something at all and having it spoiled for you before you see it, and watching a VHS-quality version just to see the story and not get spoiled...lotta people out there might make that choice.

"A friend" did that for Spiderman. Can always watch it again for the visuals once it is released on disc, but you can never un-spoil the movie once it's been spoiled. Especially for a movie like this, where the whole point is the mystery.

Those sites still get a ton of traffic, even for cam rips lol. They’re probably better quality now than ever, and I don’t imagine many are going to take the measures to avoid spoilers for another month, if not more, for such a spoiler-prone franchise.

I don't have a link either (stopped checking reddit since leaks are out) but I saw the same post. There were also replies from other people with tickets at the same place who didn't get tickets refunded - it may have just been the showing that the person in particular had.
