It's that bad?

Well, it was big news a year or so ago when Paramount announced they'd be releasing 15 films in 2016, up from 13 in 2015. So they're not quite as bad as MGM.

But they've been in trouble the past few years with corporate infighting, considering selling off part of the company, and so on.

And, of course, they got out of the disc-based media game years back.

Is suppose it's too much to hope that because the director's cut of VI is available on VUDU, Paramount may release it and remasters of the others at some point?

I just picked up today the Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture Collection and the Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection.

I have the new Kelvin timeline films on blu ray disk but believe it or not I had the first 9 films still only on VHS(yes really).

I had Star Trek: Nemesis on DVD from it's original release in early 2003.

So I was really due for a upgrade.I saw these at Best Buy early this week and went back today to pick them up.$59.98 total for ten films is a pretty good deal IMO.Plus they are loaded with bonus features and commentaries(I know they are ported over from previous releases but since I don't have any of those release (except Nemesis on DVD),they are all new for me.Even Nemesis have more features then that first DVD release so I'm getting even newer features with that too.

The only thing I don't have is the directors cut of Warth Of Khan since that was a separate release that came a few month later then these. But that's not a big deal to me.

I'm just happy to have all the Star Trek films now on blu ray.

Enjoy Trekkin' it up. If you like commentaries I highly recommend the Ron Moore ones. He's great at commentaries.

Yeah, enjoy your Trek marathon. I recently just rewatched all of the original crew and NTG crew films and am on season 6 of my TNG rewatch.

Yes,I enjoy commentaries and I'm looking forward to listening to these.I think it's neat that some of the commentaries include people who have worked on the current Trek films doing commentaries on the older ones.

Yes,looking forward to it especially since it's been a while since I've watched the older films. It's been about nine years since I watched any of the original cast films. And about five years since I eatched most of the Next Generation films.I re-watched First Contact last year.It happened to be on T.V. and I watched.Still a great film.

I've liked all the films. Even "the bad ones/weaker ones" have things I like.

Nah, that film has some of the best character moments in all of them.

I discovered this a few years ago but had forgotten about it until recently. Is this included on any European or international blu-rays for The Voyage Home?

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home Introduction - YouTube
Paramount's released basically the same discs internationally for all the films, I believe.

Sadly it's not included on any Blu-Ray release. Only on R2 DVD releases.

Would love to see a 4K master of the first movie, the director’s cut that is. Sure they probably have to re-create some effects but they have the cash. Re-watching these films:
The Motion Picture Director’s Cut: A
Wrath of Khan: A
Search for Spock: A-
Voyage Home: B (as a sci-if movie, as a summer fun sci-fi comedy, I give it an A)
Final Frontier: B
Undiscovered Country: B

You were generous to I, III, and V.

V is well worth watching for the Kirk, Spock and McCoy interplay. Easily equaling IV and TOS.

V was so bad 6 should have been called “The Apology”. I love Star Trek, the movies and TV series but V was terrible.
