Yeah, same seller just wanted to test 'em out before I buy more posters from him, I want two of those Underworld posters and he has a few rare ones I'd like, going to save up for them I think as they're a little expensive. :\

I know you guys are probably sick of me posting up crap in this thread but I have nobody else to share it with. Ha! Only one of my friends could give two shits about posters.
Speaking of crap.....my wife got me this for Christmas. I've been looking to get one for a while. Thought the movie was just OK but I love how it got cult status so quickly. The Silent Giants did a cool poster for it with some fun hidden images in the sheen. ![]() ![]() |

Nice one! Great poster and boy that movie messed with my head.
I had 3 more delivered today. Big ups to my wife for getting me Phantom City Creative's The Gate and Sleepaway Camp posters. ![]() I've had luck using an iron on some prints in the past and on some you can't even tell they arrived damaged. I got most of it "ironed" out on NOTC and messed with the worst area (shown below) for a little while. I can get it looking better but will probably just leave it alone and frame it. So if you have any screen prints on thick paper with edge or corner damage and are feeling frisky, go ahead and give it a shot. YMMV. ![]() ![]() ![]() Put the iron on its hottest setting with no steam (I drain the water out just to be safe). Start with a hard surface - I use a piece of laminate flooring. Put a piece of kraft paper on top of that. Put the damaged area on top of the kraft paper. Put another piece of kraft paper over top of the area you're ironing. I actually forgot to do that this time and the metal made a mark. LOL. Going by the crease you can usually tell how to iron it. Press hard, either in circular motions or inside-out. Some creases require doing the front and back of the print (same method). I got all of the edge damage off of all of the other areas. The lower right corner had the worst. Here's how it came out after just trying to get it "good enough". I probably won't mess with it anymore since a mat will most likely cover the rest. ![]() |

Finally got my posters up....
After much thought - and PMs with Kinsella5 - I honed in on the Batman Begins and Thor posters. Both were purchased from movieposter.com. They claim to be original, and from reading posts here, they seemed to be on the up and up. (opposed to some others that Kinsella5 has mentioned.) The frames are from Michaels - luckily, they had a 40% off sale on their frames, which made it a little easier to explain to the better half. ![]() I've had the Return of the Jedi poster for 13-14 years. I like to call it my "original-reproduction." I purchased it back when I was a Star Wars Insider (I think that is what they called it back then) It was basically an official star wars fan club. In fact, I think in the 2000s, it became Hyperspace? Maybe? I wasn't a part of it at that point. Anyway, I joined up so I could get information about the upcoming prequels. Every quarter or so, they mailed out a catalog. Obviously, when they were re-releasing the originals into theaters they offered the posters. I snatched this one up, even though Empire is my favorite, I think that image from ESB with Luke and Vader is awesome. So, while the poster my be a re-print, it came from an "official" star wars source, so in my mind, that makes it the "original-reproduction." |

Got my TGWTDT poster yesterday.
![]() He packed it in soft tube without any plastic ends, he rolled the poster in paper instead of plastic... I don't mind all that much but I prefer the plastic just so know it won't get scratched or torn just rolling around in the tube it arrived in. |

Can I ask though, did your 40x27 Michaels frames (I assume they are the Trendsetter ones) have really thin, flimsy plexi in them? I was pretty disappointed with mine. I guess at that size they can't handle glass, but really the acrylic is so thin it's ridiculous. The price I guess beats $200 or more to get them framed.. but I'm wondering if yours are the same. |

Blu, is your ROTJ poster double or single-sided? I don't know why you feel it is a reproduction, the fan club to my knowledge was offering originals to the members, but in limited quantities. I can't recall if they were offering double sided ones, but if yours is double-sided and you got it from the fan club, I would consider that an original. Even if it is single-sided, if you got it from them, it should be legit. Struzan nailed the artwork on these posters and if you place style "B" (Star Wars), style "C" (Empire) and this style "D" (ROTJ) side by side they kind of form one image. Star Wars being the heroes, Empire being the villains, and ROTJ being the creatures. For the record the hardest of the four "special edition" posters made (style "A" was a black and gold ingot style that promoted the entire re-release trilogy), the hardest and rarest one to find is the one for Empire double-sided. Lastly, those who saw ROTJ Special Edition on the first night it opened (a Friday night) at the 7pm screening only were given a special Kenner Star Wars action figure that was known as "Theater Luke". These were very limited, I believe each theater that was part of the promotion received 50 of them and were only to be given to the first 50 paid admissions for the 7pm showing. The figure had special packaging and was never sold in stores. Thor, as most already know, was the domestic final style. Last edited by Kinsella5; 12-28-2011 at 06:50 PM. |

The frames were plexi, but I didn't think that they were overly thin. |

The ROTJ poster is single sided, I believe. It has been in the frame so long, I can't even remember for sure, but I think it would stick out in my mind if it were double sided. As for my thoughts of being a re-print, I just figured since it was from the fan club, it wouldn't be considered an original, but, obviously, I'm not an expert. |
