need help finding a player with internal decoding

I am looking to get my dad a bluray player for his b-day in june (also father's day). his receiver is a few years old and it doesn't have hdmi connection or internal decoding of HD signals. (Onkyo TX-NR801)
i was considering the Sony550 because it had all of the 7.1 connections to send audio to the receiver and i read that it had internal decoding.

It appears to me that the 550 is being phased out now that Sony has the 360 and the 560 coming out. are the old models off the market now??
it looks like the 560 doesn't have the 7.1 outs based on the pictures on the website.

I just need a blu player that has the 7.1 outputs and has internal decoding of the HD audio/video signals so we can hook it up to our receiver. we will most likely run component for the video
