Anyone import Van Helsing from UK? - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone in the US imported Van helsing? I was wondering about the region coding and PQ/AQ.
I know there are a lot of you that didn't like this movie, but there are some of us who have been waiting for this since Universal joined the Blu team.

I've ordered it and am awaiting my shipment. My player is region A but I took the risk, seeing as Universal hardly ever region locks a disc. I'll let you know when I get it.

I just got it -- it's awesome! This is one of my favorite movies, I never saw it at the theatres and it is just great in blu-ray on our new 65" big screen t.v. -- this is my first post here and I'm not a blu-ray connoisseur, but I LOVE it. I'm surprised there are no reviews here. It worked fine on my blu-ray player and it was a lot less from Amazon.UK, I only paid about $17.00 U.S. for it -- it's all sold out the U.S. Amazon and they are asking $54.00 for it.

I was going to pick this one up as well but I have a hunch that Universal will be releasing a number of catalog films to cross-promote their remake of "The Wolfman," coming to theaters in November—including "Van Helsing." I just hope we'll see the classic Universal Monster films on Blu-ray by year's end as well. That's how they marketed the theatrical release of "Van Helsing."

It's region free. In case nybody is wondering, it is a vastly different encode than what was issued on the HD-DVD. High bit rate AVC encode on a BD-50.

Great disc and easily superior to the HD-DVD in PQ and obviously, AQ.

Just ordered it for myself as I watched it last week on SDVD, forgot how good it was. Did not even know it was on Blu yet. Funny thing is, the HD-DVD is more expensive.

I will have to import this one as well. The HD DVD version was one of Universal's best HD DVD release in my opinion. Dont understand why this is not on Blu-Ray here in the states? Unless Universal is waiting to release it around Halloween time?

Will be snagging it soon then since it's one of my favourite Kate Beckinsale movies to date and I'm getting sick of waiting for the US release.

Good to know the PQ is better... Although the HD-DVD was good, it could have been a little better... Definately worth upgrading for...

can anyone help me, i'm from the UK and I was going to import all of the reel heroes steelbooks but when I went to place my order it said that one of the blu rays was region one yet it says all regions when i look at the blu ray?

Ignore it, 99.9% of Universal titles are region free and this film isnt one of those 0.1% lol
