Default Samsung BD-P3600 problems with sound

I have a Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-ray player and have had a recurring and annoying problem. It started a few weeks after first use. A DVD that I had been playing OK lost all sound. Ejecting it and reloading did not help. I put a blu-ray disk is that I played earlier without a problem had no sound either. If I went into the player's setup (no changes) and then playing produced sound. I turned the machine off and turned it on a few days later to demo the unit for a friend. Sound was now back. A similar problem happened a week later. Now yesterday, after playing several DVDs with no problem. I inserted a blu-ray disk. Result was no sound for the blu-ray disk and also for the DVD that I had just watched. Anybody run into this or have any ideas?

P.S. The player is completely up to date on software

Never heard of this before, try doing a reset (hold fastforward for 5 seconds or something - check manual) to restore player to factory defaults and then update to the latest firmware again. If it still happens it could just be a faulty player, I have the samsung bdp1500 and never had any problems with dvd or blu ray

best of luck!

Return it as it seems to be an intermittent problem and is not normal. Replace and save the headache of trying to figure it out. If you still have the problem, then you know the problem lies elsewhere. Most stores have a 30 day replacement policy.

EDIT: I have the 3600 with no problems whatso ever. Use it every day and am still within the 30 days, and I guarantee you if I have so much as a hiccup I will return for a replacement without hesitation. But so far it is very solid.
