Default The Good, Bad, & Ugly pulled from Amazon. And now it's back.

Was about to order it today when I see it's no longer available from Amazon. They have this notice up:

"Item Under Review

While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)

We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible."

Most likely just some Amazon-related nonsense, nothing to do with the actual disc itself. No reviews or user posts have noted anything wrong with the disc (besides certain aspects of the image quality, but that is not something that would halt sales of the disc).

A similar thing happened on Amazon with the Blu-ray of Taken, and nothing ever came of it. That title was never pulled from any other online retailer, and is now back up for sale on Amazon.

A friend of mine looking to buy a Samsung monitor, recently (this week) saw that same message on the monitor he wanted. But, he checked back a day or two later and it was gone. I think he did try to contact them to find out what it meant but the answer wasn't very specific.

I just ordered it from amazon and it was shipped on May 24th. Haven't gotten it yet; it has to travel to Taiwan. Hope it isn't just an empty case on its way.

Amazon seems to have it pulled for some reason, they have a disclaimer on the product page now! I thought this Blu is VERY GOOD, the only BAD and UGLY with this release is the damn eco-packaging!

Amazon.com's reason:

Quote:

Note the bolded section.

Its not out of print, Amazon has pulled it due to a customer issue. It may have to do with the reviews:

Quote:
I just bought the blu-ray today, and it is the "Fully Restored Extended Version". The box states that the play time is 161 minutes, when in reality it is 178 (PS3 has play time as 2 hours, 58 minutes, and 41 seconds).
In fact, three reviews state the cover is misprinted.

TRUE It says 161 min on the back of the artwork but it DOES run 178 min! It's typo by the company(Fox),not Amazon!

I thought maybe MGM decided to recall the disc and do a proper "high def" release that would do the film justice.

Leonefan, you should know that Leone films were shot in techniscope.

Technically, it's even lower than 16mm, so even if some people could, with time and money, make a new transfert look fine, there's not any chance it will ever look like Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift on Blu-Ray

Hello dvdvision why do you say Techniscope is lower than 16mm when a 16mm image is 7 mm x 9.7 mm and a Techniscope image is 9 mm x 21 mm?

I mean it's not just the mm size, but the stock as well. This was really cheap stock, allowing not as much room as some regular nicely lit 16mm low resolution anyway.
