Default The Good The Bad & The Ugly..May 12th

How did I miss this announcement? I checked out high-def digest and it's coming out on the 12th. Surprising because originally we were supposed to get A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More.<Still no release date for those. TGTBATU wasn't even in the works yet and here it is coming out. I'd like the entire Sergio Leone Anthology. I'm not sure if it will get the blu-ray treatment like it did with DVD. In the meantime, I'll snag them up individually I guess.

Who else will be getting this on release day?

I forgot about that. I've got the extended edition dvd. There's still no info on features so we'll have to see what happens. The extended doesn't make the movie any better imo. It's still probably my favorite movie and a must-have in any collection. Can't wait to see it in 1080.

This is in my top 3 favorite westerns of all time along with Broken Trail and Tombstone. Definetly a release day purchase for me. I hope the restoration looks amazing.

Me! It's my favorite film of all time and thus my most eagerly anticipated BD.

I hope they come through on their previous release plans and release the two Dollar movies and Duck You Sucker! too.

OMG !!! TODAY HAS BEEN WEIRD !!!

I was watching Bruce Almighty on TV today..and there is part in the movie where he says that he is Clint Eastwood ...and then you see him doing Clint's expression on the screen..

So after that I google some of Clint's films...they are all great

Then i come here and I see a username "Clint Eastwood" make a thread about which bad BD titles should he get rid off...

And then I come across this...

Anyway, I will definitely be picking this up Belive it or not...they only eastwood film i saw is dirty harry and gran torino

I agree

I was thinking about getting the Dirty Harry collection for BD..but I think I will wait for a better release..
However, I will be picking this up the first day considering its one of the greatest movies ever made

I wonder why Gran Torino is going to be released so late

I've only seen a few of his as well, what are some others I should see?

I've heard that Heartbreak Ridge is a great one of his, where he plays a little bit of a different role than he does in a lot of his movies.

Here's the ones I've seen:

Dirty Harry
Good Bad and Ugly
Outlaw Josey Wales
Unforgiven
Absolute Power
Space Cowboys
Million Dollar Baby
Gran Torino

Try the Which Way films. Every Which Way But Loose was Eastwood's biggest hit and is a favourite of mine. Bronco Billy is another Eastwood classic. Heartbreak Ridge is an OK film - Eastwood hams it up a bit in an over the top fun tough guy role.

The Bridges of Madison County is a must!

In all seriousness though, you have to see A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More at the very least. And if you'd like to see some of his movies on Blu-ray: In the Line of Fire, Every Which Way But Loose, and The Gauntlet are all available.

Also, he directed Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima. Both worth seeing, IMO. (I haven't seen Changeling yet. Read mixed things about it.)
