Contrast ratio question...

contrast ratio i kno has something to do with the colors between light and dark, am i correct?

but anyway I have a mitubishi dlp rear projection ws-55313 and I tried to google it and find out the contrat ratio, but I didnt see any websites about it. do rear projection dlps have contrast ratio?

the reason I am asking is because I'm thinking of getting a vizio VX37L and its contrast ratio is
1000:1, (and I know that really isnt good)or the VP42 its a plasma (only reason I dont want it is because I like to play video games and I dont want any image burn).

and they say the lower the contrast ratio the worse the blacks are, but I just want to know if the PQ would be as good as my mitsubishi ws-55313 because I was watching V For Vendetta on HBOHD and the blacks were pretty good on it and if the vizio look as good i will buy it

and I know vizio isnt the top of the line tv's I just want an hdtv in my room for
