Default Has anyone accidentally damaged their equipment?

I was painting the window trim in my theatre room and never thought to set the back rears on the floor. (By the way they just sit on the stand they don't have any attaching options) I turned and accidentally bumped the stand and the stand started tipping. I tried to grabb it but it happened to fast and my speaker fell off hitting the metal base of the stand. The whole grill came off and all 6 pegs that hold the grill on broke right off the front of the speaker. Also the top corner of the speaker itself is chipped. I was feeling pretty shitty about it but I'm trying to let it go since there are alot of bigger problems out there. Just wondering if anyone else has stories of somehow damaging there equipment.

Unfortunately, I have shorted an amp more than once (speaker terminals touched) that had to go back to Krell for repairs (it was expensive). It happens to the best of us.

I was swiping a bug away from the front of my A950 display with a microfibre cloth and noticed the next day I had actually scratched my display. Thank god it's not to bad or I would have cried.

I was moving my 42" plasma from the living room to my bedroom and somewhere along the way i gave the screen 3 good scratches. I don't really know how to fix it. It ain't bothering me to much right now because i have just been using my projector (that's why i was moving it, making room for my 120" wide screen)

-Blew a pair of Paradigm Titians

-blew Paradigm center channel (forget the model)

-Dropped a Kenwood lazer disk player (not cool)

-Blew a pair of some cheap 3 way Sony speakers

-I also tried to fix a 32" TV couple years back.Blew the tube (i was not happy)

-Dropped one of my Boston bookself speakers at my wedding.Cracked the case.Gave them to my Dad.They were like 3 years old.they were nice speakers

- Had a Technics reciever that ran on a small tube (i can't remember if it was one are two).
Anyways I kept blowing the tube in this bloody unit so i used tinfoil.
Worked for a little bit then for some magical reason the reciever never turn on again.(i wonder why LOL)

Wow. Just... wow. I feel for you man. About the most I can remember is recently my Monitor 70s got some scratches on the side somehow. I was extremely pissed about this. Probably my one year old banging his toys against them (I stay on him about this...). I guess I can respect him for caring enough about home theater to bang his toys against the side of the front speakers than, say, the fridge. He's learning quick what's important!

Took the tv outside for a boxing event, BIG Mistake!...my son was playing around, in an instant he picked up a small rock, threw it up in the air and ended up hitting the bottom portion of the tv screen....luckly it was a minor scratch and is bearly visible....i nearly cried like a little school girl that day...

I might "accidentally" damage my Sammy BD-P1400 blu-ray player if it continues to pick which movies it will actually play

Cat launched herself off the top of one of my NHT SuperTwo mains. Sent the speaker tipping backwards until it came to rest on the baseboard trim in my living room. Heavy floor standing speaker beat the hell out of the baseboard trim but suprisingly only chipped the piano black laminate a little.

I did damage a woofer in the SuperOne that I use for a center and had to order a replacement driver from NHT for that one. I think I accidentally had it set as Large on the receiver and that was too much for the 6.5" driver.

Have you updated the firmware on your 1400? I have had to update mine about 5 times since I bought it a year ago.

My friends dog lifted his leg and pissed all over his DVR and stereo receiver... I guess that's considered an accident right?...

Maybe,....

I wonder if my speakers are damaged... If they are it's slight and sublime so I guess I could forget about it.

Had a few times when I was on the wrong input and turned up the volume only to correct the config and have stuff blasting.

I'm actually going to keep it and force it to live on as a CD player. I will introduce it to guests as my "Cute lil cd player "

My right surround has been tipped to the floor twice by my own drunk self back when it used to be in a different position - but it was fine, minus a few chips off the veneer, which I simply painted a little bit over. But damn did it make a loud sound when it dropped. My center surround has been hit and fell onto the wall next to it, denting a bit of the corner, but that's it. Nothing else has ever been dropped/hurt/etc.
