Anyone else accidentally spoil their own X-Mas? - Blu-ray Forum

I was ordering my X-Mas gifts for my wife on-line, forgot to write down the amount of the order. Click to a screen to find the balance and sitting there in all it's glory........one of my Christmas presents!!!!! Now while it's a cool gift, I'm bummed. I LOVE surprises!!! And now one of my gifts/surprises is spoiled. And not only is it spoiled, I have to wait til Christmas before I can play with it, cause the wife knows, I know!!! Has this ever happen to any of you?

PS, my spoiled gift is now sitting in my collection. Waiting for Christmas. Bill would be mad.

I am the opposite...I don't like it when people blindly buy me stuff...I am too much of a perfectionist to "accept" that someone bought me a DVD instead of a Blu-ray or someone picked me up clothing.

My wife in particular isn't very creative with my gifts...she buys me stuff without researching...I usually either shelve it or take it back and she doesn't know any different (that is when she actually saves the receipt!!)

I look at it this way...I grew up in a poor family with 1 parent working (off and on with bad wages) and being the 2nd of 5 kids...I didn't always get what I wanted so now where I can be in somewhat control, I know what I want and generally buy it for myself. To rely on someone else to get me what I want has in the past led to disappointment...so I try to make myself happy by spoiling the surprise and getting the giver to correct their mistakes where I can.

Yeah, I guess I'm an ass...so what?

My wife does a great job of always getting me stuff that I want and surprising me with fun stuff I didn't know about. My wife is the ONE and ONLY person that I trust, she never does me wrong. The rest of my family, they try but a lot of times drop the ball. But that's what the season is for, giving and receiving gifts.....well not technically but I'm not getting into that.

lol I bought all of my Xmas presents from my GF to me. She says "I rule. I've got all your shopping done." I said not to wrap them but she still wants to.

i also bought my own stuff for my wife to give me. she did the same. mostly for stockings this year for various reasons. i got a tv season set and 3 movie posters.

Yeah we only did stockings this year. Got a PS3 game and 3 blu's.
