Default A Spoiler You Wish You Could Un-Spoil

I'm sure we all have a movie that in one way or another we knew a little too much about before watching it. If you're like me, then sometimes you may wonder what it would've been like to see the same movie had you not known about a key part of the story.

For the courtesy of others, I highly recommend using spoiler tags when explaining what you knew, even if you think the spoiler is common knowledge now. If you don't know how to, simply put spoiler tags around your text, like this:

{spoiler} explain your spoiler here {/spoiler}

But instead of {} use regular [] brackets.

Movie: Star Wars

Spoiler:
[Show spoiler]I wasn't born until after the Star War movies came out, so by the time I got around to watching them, I already knew Darth Vader was Luke's dad, because the "I am your father" quote was used so much. I often wonder what it would have been like to catch that twist unexpectedly, rather than watching the movie knowing it was coming all along.

Yes, I'm sure most people know this one, but you never know.

It was very cool. I begged my mom and dad to take me and I got to go twice. I was 6 and Star Wars was my favorite thing in the world. Still is one of my favorites.

not for a movie, but when the 7th and final Harry Potter book came out, a co-worker made a random comment of how it ends, who lives & who dies.

[Show spoiler] Harry lives & Voldemort dies

Great choice.

Mine was Primal Fear

[Show spoiler]Edward Norton played everybody in that one. Some jackass at the theater ruined it for me.

Yeah, same here. Some moron magazine editor spoiled it for me. Did see it eventually, you probably should too it's still pretty good even with the spoil, but certainly wasn't the same.

When the 6th Harry Potter book came out, someone told me what happened at the end and it totally ruined my excitement. Now I still haven't read it or the 7th book...

Same here. I watched it knowing there was some twist, so I jokingly told my friend "I bet..." and then joked about what turned out to be the actual twist. So my friend laughed and said "pretty much", and that was that.

Another of my friends spoiled some HBO shows for me. Two summers ago he accidentally told me about the ending of the Sopranos (I recorded the finale, because I was out of town when it aired, and planned on watching it a few days later). This past summer I told him I started watching Six Feet Under, and he asked "did you get to the episodes where..." and proceeded to ruin a few of the twists for me (though the show is good enough that I enjoy watching it anyway).

I have good friends, I guess... although maybe I should avoid talking to one of them this summer.

There have been a few others, but I can't seem to think of any right now.
