Zombies vs. Vampires - Blu-ray Forum

which faction would win in an all out war between the two? I'd have to give the nod to zombies. They dont really have any weaknessess. Vampires would have to find a way to destroy the brain but since their first instinct is to always go for the jugular, I dont know how that would work. Plus, zombies overwhelm you with sheer numbers.

Zombies may win on technical merits and sheer numbers alone, but I've never been that interested in them. While I'm a huge horror fan, zombies are probably my least favorite subgenre while slashers are my favorite. Vampires are much more interesting fictional creatures than zombies. I've never been a huge fan of villains that have pretty much zero brain capacity to think for themselves. Though, there are some good zombie flicks out there I must admit.

Zombies.

They overwhelm with numbers, as far as I know don't feel pain, have little to no emotion (which would lead to detachment or disconnection on a psychological level; i.e. they wouldn't feel bad doing anything), they're already dead, and they're only truly stopable by full dismemberment or obliteration (as far as I know).

Vampires have very few strengths; they're generally just humans that have been transformed into nocturnal ambiguously non-human blood-suckers by some other formerly-human being, and they're very vulnerable to garlic and light. Talk about major weaknesses; that's about as wussified as it gets.

I guess the advantage they would have is that they're only killable with a stake through the heart or day-fighting. Zombies might not have the mental capacity to make that connection, and from what I've seen zombies are typically out only at night.

Hard to say, for one it would depend what myths we go by? will the Zombies deteriorate with time, are Zombies only Human...? do the Vampires need to drink Human blood and for how long can they go without, are they 100% incapacitated during the day, can they transform...?

It definitely depends on when it starts. If we assume we are starting with equal and large numbers of zombies and vampires and an inexhaustable supply of humans, zombies can replace their numbers more quickly. Vampires have to feed and create more vampires. I would think zombies have the advantage. If we start with small numbers, the vampires win.

Vampires have on their side: intelligence, speed and agility, and while they have vulnerabilities, the zombies would not be able to figure them out.

Zombies have the huge weakness that they can't climb, even stairs (until there are enough dead zombies piled up in the stairwell they can crawl over them).

haha, it's funny you bring this up, my girlfriend and I got into an argument on which would be worse, a zombie outbreak or an outbreak of vampires, as we found out when asking other people is that 4/5 men say vampires and 4/5 women say zombies. Vampires would be worse.

If you like that, check out The Hunger as well. Sorry, not on blu though.

I prefer vampires as I am not a big fan of zombie movies. I do like a few zombie movies though.

Well I do like boobs, and they had a good amount of vintage 1970s nude bodies in that movie. If I had to choose between a (potentially lesbian) vampire babe and a zombie babe (I don't think those exist), I think the choice is obvious there: Vampire by a landslide.

I saw this movie on Starz or some channel I was getting for free from DirecTV for a while when I first signed up. It was pretty weird/terrible in general.

Zombies - if they can bite through a toro and tear off limbs, the vampires wouldn't stand a chance. Just the shear amount of them would overwhelm the vampires (as long as the vampires dont carry .308)

LOL this is why I want to see Vampire Diaries, the female cast for that show appears to be quite attractive, not to mention the books the show are based on are quite good.

Can the vampires be turned into zombies? Zombie vampires would be cool. Idk though, would they be able to figure out that sunlight is bad? If not, they'd be pretty lame.

Seriously though(as serious as you can get when talking about zombies and vampires), vampires are already dead so they couldn't really be turned into a zombie. They are a lot stronger than normal humans, they could just slap the zombies in the head/neck area and dispatch them pretty easily. When daylight started approaching they could just fly home. Now the real question is, would the vampires go out of their way to protect normal humans? I mean we are still food right?

...But i think it would be a close fight since zombies will out number the vampires and vampires cant go out in the light but Vampires will win since they actually have a brain

Vampires are the more dangerous threat as commonly depicted. Remember, they basically are immortals with superpowers. Then they are also intelligent and thinking creatures, which is what pushes them to beat the zombies. Now werewolves might be another matter...

Well there already are movie about Werewolves vs. Vampires the Underworld series, but im yet to decide which one i think is winning that war thou
