I have been a member of Blockbuster (BB) Online for around four months. I joined mainly for the ability to order BR discs. As of late I have noticed that many BR disc on BB online show "Coming Soon". For example I have had Deja Vu in my Queue since it came out in April and it still shows "Coming Soon. The same is true for "Letters from Iwo Jima" and many other BR discs. I am encourage that BB is going to offer BR disc in their stores and hope my local BB will have them, but I am very disappointed that they take their time in adding BR discs to their online library. Hopefully their selection of BR as their preferred format will also mean they will expand their selection of BR discs to their online service. Would like to know if anyone else who has BB Online has also noticed that BR discs seem to take a long time (months) to actually become available and if you know why this is.
As a side note, I called BB online customer support and asked them why it takes so long to get a BR movie added to their store and they had no answer. They could not tell me anything and in the end they gave me a coupon for a free movie. |

I switched from Netflix to Blockbuster and switched back to Netflix because, no matter how many times I refreshed my queue and sent emails to tech support, I would ALWAYS have movies that were listed as "available" at my number 1 spot on my queue, and they would never get sent out. I would always get my second or third or fourth choice in my queue, and nobody could ever fix it. Also, their shipping was always a day or sometimes two slower than Netflix. The main reason I switched was so I could rent movies in store, but not getting the movies I wanted was enough to make me switch back. Netflix has never done me wrong.

Jagster, you posted this very same thing in the existing Blockbuster news thread. No need to make a new topic about it.
![]() With Blockbuster's commitment to BDs now, I'm sure their online services and title offerings will be fleshed out in no time. ![]() |
