Default Bad panel on panny 800u

Well, the repairman just left with my 8 month old
tv which has a bad panel. I am sick even thinking
about it. I talked with Panasonic twice to try to
get a replacement but no luck. I must be very lucky
to have one go out as the repairman said he has a couple
a year from panny. Has anyone else had this problem and
how did panny handle it? Should I be concerned after getting
it fixed about the longevity of the set since it has been repaired?
