Yes, you can install a SSD in the PS3. SSDs are perfect for notebooks because they're light, they don't consume a lot of power, and they give off very little heat. The good news is that you can slide those same 2.5-inch solid state notebook drives right into a PlayStation 3.

Maybe. But I would wait until those drives are faster and more reliable. I suspect that it wouldn't perform as well as a HDD.

There was very little improvement if any over having a normal HDD, other than the i did it factor. If i remember correctly.

But SSD drives are getting better all the time. Just bear in mind that most the bargain drives you find are the older style with slower loading times etc etc.
