Default Onkyo TX-SR606, A Good Choice?

Is This a good choice to start my HT? Im looking for something thats quality, and doesnt lose video quality while using HDMI inputs?

Trying to start my HT with an affordable yet quality receiver

I recommed this receiver for an entry level HT set up. You should be able to get a good price since the 607 is already in the market.

Just a word of warning some 606's have a blue pixil problem, I get a blue line down the side of my TV from mine. It's hard to notice. I dont remember on hand what the little extra thing on the serial number is to make sure it's one that wont do it.

But yes good entry one I have no problems with it besides stated above.
