I know that the Transformers the movie 1986 classic is available in the UK. but when will it or will it ever be available in the US. This would be great to release around the release of ROTF. when that comes to blu.

It is not available as a domestic release in the States. The current UK blu-ray is region free, however, and readily available from many online retailers.

I own it and it plays just fine on my US blu-ray player.

I have heard the PS3 has issues playing this disk maybe it was just a bad disk or problem with that persons player but i may order. I'm still holding out for an official US. release.

Probably just an isolated incident. The disc is region free and should work just fine.

You might be holding out for a long time. It could possibly be released when the new movie hits Blu, but who knows. Chances are it will be a while.

I bought it from a UK seller. It came to like $14 shipped (to Florida, USA), which, for a brand new blu-ray disc, sounds too good to be true.

I just read thatthe PS3 if updated to the newest firmware i believe 2.7 that this disk will not play i have alreddy updated to 2.7 so I may have to wait for a us release

Where did you read that? because is pure BS. I watched it last week with my kids on and ps3 has the most recent firmware

I'd just like to add that the audio on the UK disc is fantastic. When the Decepticons raid the Autobot base, it sounds like you're caught in the middle of a robot war. So sick!

Didn't realise this was on blu, will get it asap, probably one of my favorite movies of all time, they should have just remade this, the recent one sucked ass, where the hell were all the transformers for half the movie.

Can't wait for a few more anime blu releases, hopefully all of miyazaki's/studio ghiblis will come out soonish.

I still am sceptical about buying this disk and having it be unplayable on my ps3 I've heard the audio remix is awsome thats why i'm so interested but again to lay out the $20 and have the disk be a dud in the ps3 frightens me.worse yet lock it up and give me the rlod.

The PS3 has a RLOD? I thought it was the YLOD? Isn't the "RROD" an X-Box thing? FWIW the UK import of the animated Transformers movie plays great on my 40 GB PS3.

What are you still skeptical about? It's region free. I own it, and it plays just fine here on my US player and PS3.

Althought the PS3 version has an overall better picture, I've seen comparison shots and the DVD has a wider aspect (less cropping) and truer coloring.

Wolverine1980 it starts out as a ylod then becomes the rlod wth i'm gonna get it wish me luck!!!! Any sights where i can get it cheap amazon wants like $22 with shipping and the place doesnt have good feedback? Any help is appreciated since i really want this BD.

Damn! I've been away for far to long!

I'm a huge fan and grew up with the "Original Transformers" cartoon. I own the 1986 movie on DVD, along with the complete original series on DVD.
I had know idea that the '86 movie was ever put on Blu-ray, any where!

I do own Michael Bay's version on DVD and Blu-ray, but have always been more partial to the original Transformers.

Thanks for posting about the '86 movie, you guys made my day!
