Default Ghostbusters II

How come they advertised it as a double blu-ray release last year with the original and they end up forgetting all about it and just bringing the original out.I actually prefer the sequel to the original.

probably so they could get you to double dip... they will release ghostbusters II then a super ultimate mega box with both of em in there so genuine collectors will be tempted to buy them again... even tho they already bought em...

If I recall correctly, they decided that GBII needed some work.

A new transfer and some actual extras. Since i don't recall the DVD having many.

Yeah the GB2 DVD never had any extras, and the 2 pack on DVD only had a couple episodes of the cartoon attributed to the second movie, which was junk.

It's kind of weird, because this year is Year 25 for Ghostbusters, and it's kind of forgotten that it's Year 20 for Ghostbusters 2.

I watched both movies before starting the game today, and I have to say, the sequel, while obviously not as strong as the original, has it's own charm. It deserves a solid release, and has gotten the shaft too many times now.

The movies coming to Blu-Ray, a video game that appears to be good, and a long-awaited third film will get the hype machine going.

The current release of Ghostbusters is pretty definitive as it is. The only way I'll be buying it again is if they make 2 and/or 3 only available in a boxset that includes the first one. And since the first one just came out, and the second one is rumored to be out in September or something, odds are unlikely that they would fail to put out the second as a standalone. As for 3, it'll be a new release if/when it finally hits, and they never package new releases exclusively in box sets.

Anyone else hoping they pull cutscenes from the game and include it in a release of one of the sequels? They did something like that for Futurama, since as is the case here, they had the original crew design the story, write it, and act in it.

isn't it even 20 years to the day? June 16, 1989 release of GB2 in theatres?

Anyway, I don't fully understand why they would have dropped the 2 pack since they had an extra 8 months to get this release together and it seemed like the only reason it didn't come out next year was the GB videogame delay.

GB2 is still supposed to be coming though, so I'm still happy.

I'd rather GB2 not be released at the same time as GB1 if it means we'll actually get some special features this time.

Actually I prefer GBII than the first since I've seen the 2nd one before the 1st one when I was a kid, so I'm looking forward to the release.

I'm the type of person that does not read all the pages in a thread with 20+ pages, but right now there's no release date yet.

I prefer part II than the first one

I like them equally. They both have epic endings. 1st being Mr. Stay Puft and Second being Lady Liberty. I always enjoy the Titanic scene. I saw the second one in the theater when I was 4. I remember I was scared by the Vigo guy...now he's just a bi*ch.

Yeah the painting dude was scary. I think I was in the 3rd grade when I've seen it at the theaters.

I was pretty disappointed they didn't release them both together like they should have.
