Default Jurassic Park on Blu-ray???

Can anyone explain to me why the Jurassic Park franchise has not been released on blu-ray or GOING to be released...I can't find ANY information on it...other than what has been discussed on this website forum. I might be looking in the wrong place but, I've looked!

I just don't get it...
King Kong has already switched from HDDVD to Blu-Ray...WHAT'S THE HOLD UP!?!?!?!?!?!

300 has switched from HDDVD and will be released July 21st on Blu-Ray...WHAT'S THE HOLD UP!?!?!?!?!?!

I smell a conspiracy!!!!

Also 300 has already been released twice, the July release will be the third Blu-ray version. It was originally released the same day of the HD-DVD version. Also, could the OP explain what conspiracy is going on by not releasing Jurassic Park?

I don't get what your point is by bringing up unrelated HD DVD releases.

Look, they're working on it. Chill out and have some patience.

My point was even movies that were first released on another HD format have already switched to Blu-ray so why wouldn't Jurassic Park be at least in the works for blu-ray...if I can get Dr. Strangelove (released in 1964) on blu-ray...why not a movie made in '93.

The 'Conspiracy' comment was a joke.

I'm aware of all the forum posts but the one's I had seen before were from early last year...like I said before; I've looked but, I knew I wasn't covering all the bases with my search.

I hear you! I got a few movies I badly want on BD as well. You are a new member I see, here is a few tips for you from a expert on here :

Always make sure you search high and low for a subject about wish list releases because they have been talked about to death before. You will have a few veterants on your case Stuff like JP, SW, Indy....well you get the picture is wanted by everyone almost and it's been talked about so often you can't imagine it.

In general people are nice on here compare to other places I've seen, just expect the little joke at your expense once in a while.

JP1, 2 and 3 will probably be available around the time JP4 is released at cinemas.

Its because its easier to switch a HD movie from one HD format to another?

These things take time to remaster them in HD or find the print and clean them up enough to look decent. Do you want an inferior product or the best they can do? If you want the inferior product then all the studios can just grab the DVD, upscale and sell you that as a blu ray.

I would rather wait for them to do a good job, give me a good transfer than some inferior product.

I also think the studios want to replicate the feel as close to the director/producers intention. This could mean they would have to find the director/producer and if they even have time to do any of the work. That is why some of James Cameron's work is taking a while to show up because he is busy with Avatar.

Some studios are also waiting for more market share before releasing the heavy hitters. They might not feel there is enough people to buy their movies if they spend the time releasing it and not get any sales.

again...OP...there is already a large discussion going on here. if you saw an already existing thread, why the need to create a new one since nothing new has been announced

rest assured, when something is finally announced, it will be all over the forums and very easy to find it's all in the hands of the studios, i want it just as much as you and everyone else does

I am personally hoping now that they wait five years to release Jurassic Park. The wait of this release is making making me relish the human suffering.

They can take as long as they like as long as we get a good quality product. Until then, I enjoy movies I like on SD DVD. Blu-Ray obviously adds to that enjoyment but I rather see a good product for something waited patiently for then some I've been dissapointed with (but that is in another thread, something like BDs you wish you didn't buy)!

Yeah, good times! But, like Danman mentioned...I would much rather have in done right. I heard Days of Thunder sucked on Blu-ray...haven't tested it myself but, that was the impression I got from a friend that bought it.
