Default Had a V-22 Osprey land next to our hanger... (pics included)

My boss called me out and we had a group of V-22 Osprey land next to our hanger I combined the pictures my boss took with mine uploaded them to flick and have provided them below.

Pretty cool to see one upclose. Mine were shot at either 1024x768, or 768x1024, my bosses are shot at 600x480, enoy.

Oh noes.. they actually didn't stay long, they put them on apu's refueled and they left, this location is a airport.. and our non flying airline probably scared them off.

It's a great step for the USMC. I haven't seen one up close yet.

They are still making these? I'd figure with all the problems during testing and development the project would have been scraped.

I want to see an A10 up close. That's my favorite plane ever made.

Actually the project went on and many more billions of dollars invested and its being used in Iraq supposedly, even the president used it to tour Iraq...

I would also like to see a A-10 up close as that is my favorite plane ever made as well.

I just have an appreciation and respect for designers that said "Hey, you know what might save the pilot? A sh!tload of redundancies and a titanium tub! Oh yeah, lets give it a gun that shoots DEPLETED URANIUM!"

As a child the A-10 was my favorite plane the older I got the more I loved it..

"Peace through Superior Firepower", ive seen images of that phrase being on the front of the Gatling gun -dead center on the barrel.

I don't think so they should have a movie dedicated to A-10's in fact perhaps a movie series with each movie outlining a different part of its carer.

That's awesome. And weird.

When I was little my uncle took me to an Air show and they had models of the A10. I said I wanted one but he didn't get it for me. Then at Christmas I opened up a brand new hand painted wooden model with stand of an A10 Warthog.

Of course, I tried to fly it. BAD IDEA.

We were based in England when growing up and our base (Bentwaters/Woodbridge) had A-10's as the main plane. We went to many airshows that had the A-10's displayed and saw them up close. Still have a picture of myself in the cockpit with helmet on.

That is by far my favorite plane. Especially as I remember it was so much quieter than the F4 they replaced on the base.

LOL are you serious? They've served 4 tours already in one of the most aircraft unfriendly locations in the world with better than average mission readiness - especially when compared to other brand new platforms...they've provided SAR in the states to places helos only dream of getting to and they've provided humanitarian aide in places like Honduras. They can get to anywhere in theater AND back w/o refueling (a capability I'd like to see any other helo try to undertake). And, yes, they are the VIP transport of choice. They can't be produced fast enough. But don't take my word for it...google it. The naysayers have always been and always will be...wrong.
