I could be wrong but I think it has to do with some kind of add-one or somthing something like that, that the PS3 doesn't normaly read or decode, or whatever. I have Yahoo as well and the lst tiem I tried it I was able to. I don't know when it was but, well thats my thought on it anyway. Not that it's any help to you. Sorry.

You would think sony would have integrated some kind of email client. Where you can just setup the pop3 or imap servers. It would be awesome if they integrated that into folding at home or whatever that news\weather globe thing is called.
Then I would probably be inclined to check that stuff when I wake up in the morning or get home from work. |

I have 3 email accounts, the gmail one does indeed work just fine
the other two were yahoo accounts and I noticed something interesting happen between them - I think the catalyst here is that stupid new chat thing yahoo has implemented. As it appeared on one account first, that very account got stuck with the eternaly loading page and the other account would load like normal. Then when my second yahoo account was updated with the chat function, it too met with this same fate. So I blame yahoo for this inconvenience as they don't provide an option to turn the damn thing off - the release of the PS3 system update was just a coincidence |

Yea I can say the same about web browsing but the ps3 has that. Most people just use there PC for email and web browsing.
If sony provided an email interface they could truly replace the PC for most peoples internet habits. For sony the more time people are on the PS3 the better. Plus it would be a great feature for them to brag about it being the all in one media center. Also all the lazy people would never have to move from the couch to browse the web, look at email, watch movies, and play video games. |
