Default Blu-ray vs. HD DVD rankings

I came across several HD comments on this forum as well as across the internet that were completely 1 minded. I understand that people bought into the whole HD thing before Blu-Ray came along and they are trying to stick to that format since they probably invested quite a bit of money into it (They are on the wrong side but they'll figure it out sooner or later). But making comments against another format when Blu-Ray has all the evidence supporting what is being said not only by consumers but by Studios and Media Insiders is getting a little ridiculous. So....I went to Amazon to kind of do a comparative numbers since everyone in HD has been in a fit over using Amazon as their (Planet Earth) example of why they are winning (in a fantasy land maybe). I'm just putting numbers next to each other to show you how Amazon ranks each title in the movie format as a whole-this is a quick side by side comparison so i didn't add the titles-those are pretty easy to find.

Code:
Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD
 #14 #11
 #91 #390
 #145 #430
 #158 #605
 #166 #720
 #170 #880
 #175 #1076
 #260 #1125
 #460 #1126
 #525 #1226
 #574 #1384

This is good stuff. Numbers, that is, real evidence.

Been awhile since I went to this site.
http://www.eproductwars.com/dvd/

The newest HD-DVD argument given: The lead is meaningless because the quantity sold is low. Why did they come up with this a few months ago?

Yes well as a retailier I knew so much that i completely removed any HD titles that were in my store and so I now only sell Blu-Ray.

Hopefully those number will let everyone see that this is not a neck and neck race. HD - dvd is falling behind and they don't seem to be able to gain any type of speed on blu-ray. I know as well as countless others its only a matter of time before everyone everyhwere is blu and its over but in the meantime-HD-dvd can't think they can spread these false comments all over the internet and no one would pick it up. I have a million things to do right now but I just said forget about it-and went onto amazon clicking back and forth back and forth - it was worth it to prove the point everyone has been trying to make. HD could not catch up if we .....there just isn't a scenario to make up for this -plan an simple its going to happen its more of a when-until then I know the bitter/batter will go back and forth-but I least I can now say-look at the number Blu-Ray Titles are placing huandreds and hundreds almost to the thousands ahead of blu-ray (And this is for the top 10/11). I'm sure if we scrolled down that gap would become even more ridiculous

Out of over 300 titles purchased I've only purchased 2% from B&M stores(from promotions or gift cards). It's just too expensive to pay a 30% premium plus taxes. Whether it's BD or HD DVD the prices need to come down to at least the levels Amazon has them before I'll start buying them locally.

Taking in all this, I can see Blu-Ray is out in front by a mile (not getting to cocky mind you), My father still sees the race as close. In a nutshell while appeasing a numbers/technical guy, just how can I give him a by the book argument that Blu-Ray is the way to go?

What is a real give away is stock numbers.

Amazon stocks 3:1 BD:HD-DVD

Thats the ratio of sales they expect.

Welcome to the forum. It's good to see more people who are not afraid to publically support Blu-Ray.

Keep an eye on this thread. It is the best thing to track numbers in the race industry-wide.

On eproductwars.com, they list the top 100, and then the top 1000. If they listed the top 200, blu would have an enourmous lead. We have 7 in the top 200, compared to HD's 1.
