Default Sony BDP-S300 Firmware

Hello, Everyone! I've got a few questions about my Sony BDP-S300. I've had it for over a year now & I tried to play Star Trek TOS Disc 1. It wouldn't play. I'm wondering if I need to update the Firmware. If so, how is this done? I went to the Sony website but my OS was not listed in the drop down menu. I have a Mac OS X 10.4.11. I guess from lack of research, I didn't realize that there was Firmware. I just hooked it up and started playing movies. I would like to get the optimum performance from my player. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could bootcamp your mac and install windows and then download and burn your own discs. I had to do this for my machines.

Default Sony bdp-S300 firmware

If u don't want to deal with it using your MAC, then hit the sony website and click on the SUPPORT HOME link and enter your model number and have them send u an update dics OR read the instructions on the SONY site as to downloading it using a MAC. Maybe u could use a friend's PC to do it. It only takes a few minutes to DL and burn to a disc. Either way, best of luck to ya.

Default the 300 is so outdated folks sorry...

I don't mean to sound like an "a-hole," but it is a model fading by the minute.

Default Sony bdp-S300 firmware

I manage to sell mine recently dirt cheap for an upgrade. But still a decent player for average use.

Default Zip

The .EXE file is just a self-extracting ZIP file. I've used unzip on Ubuntu Linux, burned the resulting ISO, and upgrading just fine.
