Default Pio Sc 05 Wont Turn On!!

I just got my Pio SC 05 2 day ago. I ordered it from 6thave.com I watched a BLU RAY last night. Turned it off when I got done. Now it won't turn on. My tv is okay. My PS3 is working so I didnt blow a fuse. Everthing else in my living room is working.... This thing just wont turn on. I've unplugged it & plugged it back in. I plugged it in, in a different room. Still nothing. The only thing I get is 1 red light flashing under the advanced mcacc. I don't get it? Is this thing a dud??? Help please!!!

Try your manual, it should refer to an overload or protective circuit somewhere.

Read through your manual, it says when that light is blinking your amp may have encountered a serious error and to contact Pioneer support

Edit> page 112 I think it was

Impossible to tell , best bet get on the phone to where you bought it and seek their advice.

I bought it off the internet 6ave.com. I never have bought anything off the internet with this kind of purchase. 6ave.com gave me a 3 year warranty with the purchase. I bought it for $770. I hope I don't run into any issues with them (like them not wanting to take it back if they can't fix it).

Sorry to hear about your problems. Before you call it in, did you register it on-line for the warranty to be effective yet? I bought mine 2 weeks ago from 6th Ave with the warranty, and I know you have a 30 day window to register the product, or you would lose the warranty, I believe. Make sure you register it before calling, or you may have a problem with them honoring the warranty sicne they will look for your warranty and will not see it registered!

I think it'll be on the back, up at the top, next to the power cord.

+1, its on the back of the receiver itself. Make sure you register it, and if you bought it from 6th Ave, I think the name of company with the warranty is "Mack" or something close to that. You should have gotten a small blue "card" that states what to do with your receiver.

When you say you tried it in a different room, the speakers were not hooked up I assume? If they were, unhook them (though it sounds like you've already done this). Also make sure there's no wires or strands potentially shorting out the speaker terminals- that'd cause it to go into protection mode as well.

Good luck with it. Pioneer's service can't be worse than Onkyo's.

You posted this in another thread:
Okay I ordered a Pio SC-05. It's a 7.1 receiver. Here's my question. I have 2 couch's in my living room. I would like to surround both couch's with 7.1 (4 speakers). I would be running 8 speakers out of my surrounds. Could I damage the receiver? Will it work? Is it not reccommended???

I dont suppose you tried this and blew up your receiver, did you?

msnoopy, sorry to hear about your 05.The good thing is 6th ave offers a 30 day return policy against any defects. This is a 6th ave issue within the first 30 days after that, the warranty takes place.
Its like purchasing something from Sears, Target, Walmart etc. they all offer a30 day return policy, 6th ave is no different, other than you have to pay for the shipping to 6th ave. They will pay for the shipping back. Give them a call. No need to panic.
Good luck

Hey "got rice", since they are out of 05's now, do they exhange it for a different model or try to fix the one he shipped to them? Just curious....?
