Post Receiver Questions

Alright My Home Theater is complete I haven't gotten anything yet because I have a couple of final questions about the receiver I chose and another model that I saw and I want to know the difference between them and if I chose the better newer receiver because they look very similar.

The Models in question are below

The Receiver I chose is this model Denon 910W 7.1Ch Sirus Satellite Radio Ready A/V Receiver
Model:AVR4310CI the one I saw is this model Denon AVR-4308CI

You have to try the Audyssey DSX and tell us all what you think. I think the introducion of wide channels could be very interesting.

Post More Questions about Denon Receiver Model AVR4310CI

I have new questions about the receiver I chose which is a Denon 910W 7.1Ch Sirus Satellite Radio Ready A/V Receiver Model AVR4310CI here are the questions below, all the questions I am asking I couldn't find the information on the denon website or there was too little information about that specific feature for me to conclude if the the receiver has that feature or not.

1.Can the receiver I chose be remotely controlled by a pc I think it can because it has two ports a serial port that's called an RS232C port and an Ethernet port which according to other sites can also be used as a way to control the receiver with a pc. Can any one that has it setup this way please confirm this for me? Can both ports be used at the same time?

2.Can the receiver I chose upconvert the following video signals composite, component, S-Video up to Full HD 1080p And output them via HDMI ?

3.The receiver I chose has dual HDMI output what does this mean

4. Does The receiver I choose have Bluray Bit Stream support

5.Does the receiver I chose include An HD Radio Tuner ?

6.If I get the optional Ipod dock will I be able to fully control my IPhone with it?

7.Will I be able to connect a record player to this receiver?

8.Does the receiver I chose output audio via HDMI?

9.Can anyone confirm since the receiver upscales video to 1080p if the black borders go away when playing Sony PSP games with the PSP's video out feature ?

10.Does this receiver decode Dolby Digital Plus ?

11.Does the receiver I chose have the HDMI Video switching function ?

12.Does the receiver I chose have Dolby Headphone support ?

13. Should this receiver already be at bestbuy stores or is it shipping to stores now because I can't find it at my local Bestbuy?

Sorry I know it's a lot of questions but thanks again in advance for your answers but I want to clarify some of these questions ,if I have anymore questions that I can't find the answer too I will post again.

I can't answer all your questions, but I can help with some of them. In order:

1. I don't know.

2. I believe it can. From Dolby's site:

Quote:
Anchor Bay ABT-2010 advanced analog and digital video 1080p/24fps/60fps upconversion and deinterlacing with multi-cadence detection
3. Dual HDMI output means it can output to 2 different display devices, for example, if you have a projector and a direct view TV (LCD or plasma).

4. Yes, Again, from Dolby's site:

Quote:
Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital Surround EX, Dolby Pro Logic IIz decoding

DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution, DTS ES 6.1 Discrete, DTS ES 6.1 Matrix, DTS Neo:6 decoding
You have to bitstream Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio to the receiver for them to be decoded in the receiver, and since it will decode them, that means it supports bitstreaming.

5. Yes. From Dolby's site:

Quote:
HD Radio AM/FM tuner
6. Yes. From Dolby's site (Details regarding ASD-11R Ipod dock):

Quote:
With plug and play simplicity, you can easily connect your iPhone, iPod Classic, Touch or Nano to your Denon music or home theater system, and enjoy command and control via your Denon component’s remote control.
7. Yes. It has a phono input on the back, which is specifically for turn tables. Even if it didn't have this specific connection, you could still use a turntable pre-amp and connect a turntable to a standard stereo input.

8. I don't know for sure, but I would be surprised if it couldn't. That's pretty standard with receivers that can decode audio over HDMI. You usually have to turn this feature on or off in the setup menu.

9. This I couldn't answer, as I'm not at all familiar with the PSP.

10. Yes. From Dolby's site:

Quote:
Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital Surround EX, Dolby Pro Logic IIz decoding
11. It's not checked in the detailed specs, however it obviously does some kind of HDMI switching. See my post below.

12. Also not checked in the specs.

13. Since it's a new model, it may take a couple more weeks to start showing up everywhere, but there's no guarantee it's a model BB will carry.

If I understand it correctly, it's a feature where you can switch between various HDMI inputs that are all connected to your receiver, and then only have a single HDMI cable output from your receiver to your TV. If my definition is correct, then I would say that your receiver does do it. It's kind of screwy though that they say it doesn't. If it doesn't then why would there be so many inputs on the receiver, and so few outputs? I went back and checked several models on Denon's site, and didn't see any where this feature was checked. I would recommend contacting their customer support for a better answer.

Yes. It has a full set of pre-outs on the back. These are the connections you need in order to use a separate amp.

Question I have one More Question About The Receiver

I have done a bit of Searching and found some answers to some questions that were unknown before.

Here are the answers I found to some questions I had but at the time were unknown.

1.The Receiver needs separate amps for Zone 2 And 3 because if not the Main Zone goes to 5.1 Mode.

Here Is the new question

Does the Denon AVR4310CI have a subwoofer output I can not find any information anywhere concerning this matter?

Thanks In Advance For Your Replys

Of course. It's grouped with the rest of the pre-outs. It's high-lighted and labeled SW. Just go to Denon's website and look at the pic of the back of the receiver and you'll see it.
