The following questions apply to the following recievers

SR606
SR705
SR706
SR805
SR806

1. In regards to the 805 vs 806, video upconverting doesnt seem to be there on the 805 like it is on the 806, but if im using my s350 blu ray player to handle that, that feature wouldnt matter to me correct?

Correct.

2. Which of those have pre-outs, like if i wanted to buy a bigger better amp to drive my speakers down the road

I believe the 705 and up all have pre-outs.

3. Do the burr-browns really make alot of difference? 805vs806

All I can tell you here is that I prefer the sound of the Burr-Brown's over standard DAC's any day. Onkyo skimped the amp section on the 806 in replacement for some more video features.

4. on the 806 it says "BTL Capability For Front(210W) " Is that bridging? if so what channels amp i bridging to yeild that power? im only doing 5.1 so i dont need the surround backs

That is bridging and I think you can use Zone 2 or 3 for bridging.

5. the 805 does seem to have an edge over all of the others in sound quality? higher s/n ratio, lower thd%.

Onkyo 805>All other receivers you listed.

6. which of these is the best Audyssey MultEQ or AudysseY MultEQ XT

MultiEQ XT is the best.

7. Why does onkyo on their website list the 606, 705, 805 as 7 channels (found in the specs) and the 706, 806 as 7.1?

Only the editor of the Onkyo website could answer that for you.

8. what is Dual PUSH-PULL Design?

Not important.

9. Is there really much difference between the thx certs? None on the 606, select2 on the 705, select2 plus on the 706, ultra2 on the 805 and ultra2 plus on the 806

The plus versions are basically the same except updated versions of the THX standards.

10. the 705 and 805 seem to only be hdmi 1.3 instead of 1.3a, is this gonna hurt me in anyway?

No.

11. did they change the way they measure THD% because my 15yr old sony ES reciever is rated for .04% thd so im suprised these new ones are higher?

There are tons of reasons why THD isn't always accurate and why they can be deceiving too.

Sorry for all the questions but i dont make alot of money so this is a big purchase for me so i just want to weigh all the options and know the facts before i buy one (plan on buying next friday, pending these answers and the availibility of the recievers)

Good luck..... the cheapest 805 I've been able to find is $800. Now that they are so hard to find.... the price seems to have really gone back up. Let me know if you find a good deal and I will do the same.

Paid $550 shipped from Amazon in May 07. I couldn't be happier with the 805 and would pay MUCH more. Allthough, at $1200 I would've prob got another Denon.
