Default Just to make some noise about this HD-DVD player!

If anyone is interested in buying an HD-DVD player just for the sake of it, here you go: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16882116085R

Why do they still attempt to sell dead technology?

There are suckers everywhere. However, I will say that my A2 is an excellent upscaling DVD player. The picture from it is much better than my PS3, so I keep mine for that. But $169 today?

If you really want/need a hd-dvd player I highly recommend the LG BH200 Super Blu. Not only does it play HD-DVD's but it is the only US region free blu-ray player that I know of!!

I never have to check whether a movie is reion free before purchasing, and there are some seriously killer blu-ray deals on amazon UK.

Just found one at an Office Depot. I still can't believe they still sell those. Oh, well. I guess Toshiba doesn't have the words "give up" on their dictionary.

Would you say it's better, or worse of an upconverter than the XDE? or was that XDH? I honestly can't remember because Toshiba is so beneath my notice right now that it's ceased being funny years ago.

Don't have a clue, as I've never tried one. I know (to me) the picture blew-away the Oppo it replaced and is much better than my PS3. It's a keeper for now.
