Sorry if this has been discussed. Im not sure why True blood came out so fast on Blu ray, so why havent we seen Entourage or Big love? Will we ever?

I think that there are more people who would buy True Blood on Blu-ray just because they could not have already boughten the DVD.

Sapranos last season was released on Blu ray in two parts.

To answer your question I'm sure we will see Entourage and Big Love on Blu- ray at a later date.

I Don't understand why HBO is releaseing the first season of the Sapranos and the last ones are already released and they won't release the other ones. Won't they just release each season by themselves and than release a box set at the same time?

So what is it that you want? I still can't tell...

A) Release a complete Sopranos box set this year, charge $500 for it.
B) Release all Sopranos seasons in individual sets this year at $80 each.
C) Release a season a year, then maybe a complete series set at the end.

A and B are not going to happen. The finished sets are not just sitting someplace waiting for somebody to push the "ship it" button. They aren't holding them back. They don't exist. They have to be authored to Blu standards, music rights have to clear, then they can be packaged and marketed. All of this takes a great deal of time and money.

I don't understand why you feel so cheated by HBO releasing another season of The Sopranos this year.

Because there is no reason they can't just say we are going to release the saprano's series but right now you are just going to get the first season and the rest will follow. If these are the only ones that are going to get release and not the rest than YES we are getting cheated. I know it take along time for movies to get authored for Blu-Ray. HBO should not have a problem bring them out because they don't release alot of movies anyway.
And the sopranos is one of the best series they have and they are only releasing half of them.

I wish HBO would release The Hitcher on Blu-Ray. They own the rights to it.

Probably cause the last season was HD ready, and they still needed to convert the others. They might have just realized it might make enough money to make it worth the trouble to do the transfer.

I can't believe HBO have missed such an obvious opportunity to release 'From The Earth To The Moon' on Blu-ray to mark the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing. With all the attention being given to the anniversary (documentaries, articles, etc.), they would have maximised their sales if they'd released it this month.

+1 on ROME. For me, it ranks right up there with Band of Brothers in terms of entertainment value and production quality.

Haven't seen True Blood. Not a big vampire fan. Between seeing Twilight last year, and the short-lived Moonlight TV series, I am all vampired-out until 2011.

Here is hopes that HBO executives actually read these forums. How about the Blu-ray of Deadwood where you actually finish the series? Its cancellation caused me to cancel my subscription and never buy anything else from HBO. Except for Band of Brothers. Oh, and that Pacific theater thing when it comes out. Are you doing the Star Wars series? Then that. But, dangit, I want just one more episode of Deadwood. You did a Sex in the City movie (and I so wanted the Cloverfield monster to show up before it was over. At least in hour six of the movie). If you can do a Sex in the City, do Deadwood. If I believe in voodoo, I would own a David Chase doll. Everybody that was involved in canellation of Deadwood also gets a doll too. I don't believe in voodoo, but the canellation of Deadwood has diminished everyone at HBO's soul.
