Default New to the BD camp. Hi!

Hey all. This is my first post. I jumped on the HD-DVD bandwagon early due to the lower prices (back when it was $350 for the cheapest HD-DVD player vs. $1000 or close to it for a BD player). Last week after some of the recent announcement such as Blockbuster video going BD only for in-store rentals and HD-DVD not catching up in software sales even after dropping prices on the HD-A2 player I decided to buy a PS3.

I'm very impressed with this machine. I wish it had a better remote option as I've invested in a universal remote so having to use either the BT remote or game controller takes me back to having multiple remotes. Thats' really my only complaint. I found an IR remote that has an IR receiver dongle that goes in the PS3. I've ordered it and hope to be able to use it to program my universal remote. I've already discovered that this remote doesn't offer the ability to turn the PS3 on or off but it should handle the other functionality well from what I've heard.

I've only purchased 1 BD movie (Bridge to Taribithia) but I have several in my Blockbuster queue so I will be seeing more soon. I think the PS3 also does a pretty good job of up-converting DVDs. My display is a Sanyo PLV-Z4 throwing a 122" image on a DIY screen (which is a little large and I intend to redo the screen this summer down to about 100").

Any way, just thought I would introduce myself and join the fun.
