I was hoping they would release American Werewolf in Paris instead of this one. Hopefully that is later down the line.

I sold my old DVD to get the $6 HD DVD... well that needs to go bye-bye as this blu edition has a lot of new extras & a new transfer. YAY!

Too bad The Wolf Man isn't released on Blu-ray. Since the remake hits theaters soon, I had hoped they would release the original on Blu. But An American Werewolf in London is very good too.

I wouldn't really call it the "First" one.......

That's like saying "The Day the Earth Stood Still" or "Ocean's Eleven" or "The Italian Job" were "First" editions, and "Second" editions......

They are all great movies, that were re-made (with crappy re-makes) by a film industry that struggles to generate new ideas.

You and me both. Dracula and Frankenstein as well, but especially the Wolf Man. Lon Cheney Jr. played one of the best, most identifiable and human characters to become a werewolf in the history of film. The film has stood the test of time for many reasons, but most notably due to his wonderfully heart-wrenching performance.

American Werewolf in Paris wasn't a remake, though. So he's fine in calling AWIL the "first" one.

Of course all the Universal classic horror films would be great on blu (throw in The Mummy, The Creature From the Black Lagoon and The Invisible Man too, while you're at it) but apparently older films don't get released unless there's a remake in theaters, that's why I was hoping The Wolf Man would be released on Blu-ray alongside the Legacy Edition.
