Right now I'm saving up all my nickels and dimes for a new TV, but I'm also looking into upgrading my HT setup. If you had to choose, which would you spend your money on first? I'm having a hard time deciding on spluring on a HT setup right now (Newegg has some great deals going on), but that would set me back a bit on getting that shiny new 54'' V10. Decisions, decisions.

not to be rude, but does Newegg sell anything decent? Either way, id go Home Theater over Visuals... i think this because if i dont have surround sound, i feel like im missing a part of the movie that is intended for the listener to hear..

If you have any HDTV right now over 32" I would go for audio first..... if you have a 32" or smaller set..... then the jump to 50+ inches is gonna be great, and you should probably do that......
What will the T.V. set you back, and how much are you willing to spend on audio? |

well the Panasonic is going for a shade over $2400 right now....and yeah I have a 46 inch Sony HDTV that works fine.
as far as what I'm willing to spend on audio, I'm just dabbling in the world of home theater audio, and I've heard Polk is the way to go for n00bz just beginning their journey. So all in all, I guess I'm looking to keep it under $1000. I have the money to get all the audio equipment now and I know what I want, I was just looking for some opinions on which one I should upgrade first. Thanks. right now, as far as audio, all I have is a Sony Surroundbar that came with an awesome sub (check CNETS's review, it was spot on). It's sufficient for now, but I want more out of my audio. |

I guess that depends on what you consider "decent"

Definitely agree with this. If you were upgrading from a non-HDTV, or from a small HDTV, then I'd say upgrade the TV first, but making that small of a leap in size of TV compared to the HT you have now, HT upgrade is definitely the way to go.
