Default Star Wars - Episode I.I: The Phantom Edit

Anyone ever see it? I have it on VHS.

I like how the voices were scrambled on the gungans and the viceroy alien things.

I know the DVD had Extended scenes. I still have the VHS but don't have a VCR anymore.

Sounds like the beginning of a cool thread.

What's a VHS?

Scarily I actually used a vhs in 2006 rather frequently (I was working and living at a boarding house and there was a collection of a few hundred vhs films). But besides that I don't think if used one for almost ten years. As for fan edits, i'm not a fan of them, I like watching films as they where intended to be viewed.

Since I moved, I found both of my VCRs. My G&E VCR has lasted the test of time, it was originally my folks and they got when I was born and the manufacture date is June 1989. And I have a JVC which I use for converting my old VHS tapes to DVD. But I don't have my main computer set up yet.

Now that the movies have been out for a while on blu-ray has anyone ever seen or heard of a blu-ray version of the phantom edit? I would pay good money to get a copy of that edit on blu-ray...

Has anyone done a fan edit of just the three prequels combined? That's what im waiting for - Darth Maul first act, Jango Fett 2nd act, Palpatine 3rd act.

I could try to splice the VHS and Blu-ray together for whenever there's been visual changes from the widescreen VHS tape that Mike J. Nichols used. However, my copy didn't have this new opening crawl about why the Phantom Edit was made.

I'm just looking for minimizing Jar-jar / the yippy!! Basically cutting down the existing blu-ray. I just want to watch a bearable version. The little visual changes and the like are ok by me...

Yes. Topher Grace did just that. Here is a link (though /Film is garbage):

Did he ever finish Empire? I know he's been doing that since 2004.
