Default newb question

Im just confused in the product description for the onkyo 606/607 model...

# HDMI V1.3a repeater (4 in/1 out, 1080p compatible)
# HDMI 1080i upscaling powered by Faroujda DCDi Edge

if my source ie blu-ray is in 1080p will it display in 1080p?

Yes, it will display in 1080p. Those two features are for two completely different things. The first part is saying that it has 4 HDMI inputs and 1 output and it will pass a 1080p source to your TV. The second part is mainly for older components. Let's say, for example, you have an old VCR or DVD player and you're using composite or component cables. If you have a HDMI cable hooked up to your TV as your monitor out, the HDMI ouput will upconvert the VCR or DVD signal up to 1080i instead of displaying the source at 480i/480p.

You can install 4 HDMI devices into the receiver and they will go out to 1 HDMI compatible monitor (HDTV) with resolution up to 1080p

# HDMI 1080i upscaling powered by Faroujda DCDi Edge
resolutions of input devices below 1080i will be up scaled to 1080i (inputs will be described by the manual for specific inputs), input devices 1080i & 1080p will go straight through with no upscaling.

if my source ie blu-ray is in 1080p will it display in 1080p? If the native resolution of your monitor is 1080p then any 1080p source you input to the receiver will go out to the monitor as such, again your monitor must support 1080p and the source must be 1080p to begin with.

Hope that helps.

I don't see why you would want to. The games run at either 720p or 1080i. There's really no need to upconvert.
