Default Newb question about Power Conditioner

I just read a couple of thread about the job a power conditioner is doing.
I currently don't have a big setup, only a Sony Bravia 32'' and a PS3 as my blu-ray player, I don't have any sound system cause I still live at my parents place for the time my GF got a job so we can move together.
As "power protection" I have a power surge that I get when I have buy my TV, it say it have a power blocker automatic shutdown and a protection indicator light.
I was wondering if I should get a real good power conditioner for now, or if I should start building up my home theater first ?
And if I start building my home theater first, will that kind of power surge is good enough at the beginning to protect my equipement ?

A decent surge protector is all you will ever need.
