Default Power Conditioner Question

I know there are many threads about power conditioners, but I've read every post in every thread and still have questions. I am trying to decide what power conditioner to get. I had this one from Belkin, http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-PureAV%...6057794&sr=1-3, and it was a piece of junk. Even when I only had my tv and cable box plugged in it would overload and shut down. I would like to buy something around $300 max, and was wondering if anyone could link to conditioners they've had good/bad luck with. I'm considering the Monster or Panamax ones on Amazon, but would look elsewhere. I would like something that could handle all my equipment, consisting of my tv (Panasonic 50PZ800U), cable box, Onkyo 805 receiver, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, HD DVD player, and modem. My area has had some power outages recently and I'd like my stuff to be well protected. Thanks for your help.
